Scarface - Black Still“Black Still” is a re-creation of Public Enemy’s classic song “Black Steel In The Hour of Chaos” and will appear on Face’s upcoming 10-song EP, Deeply Rooted: The Lost Files, out on December 15 via Facemob/BMG. The collection is an extension of Face’s 2015 solo LP, Deeply Rooted and contains 6 new songs and 4 alternate versions.

Rapsody Nominated For Two Grammy Awards (@rapsody @JamlaRecords)

rapsodyIt is always beautiful to see honest, authentic artists get acknowledged for their craft. Rapsody is undoubtedly one of the most underrated MC in the hip-hop genre. She’s been in the game for years and unfortunately she’s been over looked far too often. That being said, we were excited to learn that she is finally being recognized for her contribution to the rap game.

Rapsody is nominated, not once but twice for the 2018 Grammy’s. She is nominated in the following categories: Best Rap Song (“Sassy” — Gabouer & M. Evans, songwriters: Rapsody) and Best Rap Album (Laila’s WisdomRapsody).

Jamaica’s Dancehall Group, Nuh Limit Family & Toronto’s MC, UZMAN Prepares Visuals For Their Trending Single, “Rolling High” (@UZMAN1)

rolling high behind the scenes video shootEarlier this year, popular Canadian rap artist UZMAN joined forces with Jamaican dancehall group Nuh Limit Family to record and release a single titled “Rolling High.” Though it’s a typical weed song, “Rolling High” got a lot of attention early on because it was released during a time when the legalization and open use of marijuana was an ongoing topic in both Jamaica and North America.

Fast forward to approximately nine months later and the song is now getting steady rotation on some of the biggest dancehall radio shows on the island. As a result of its increasing popularity, UZMAN and the Nuh Limit Family recently got together to shoot the official video, which will be shared publicly on December 11th.

Talib Kweli Releases New Album, ‘Radio Silence’ (@TalibKweli)

Talib KweliRadio Silence is the latest contribution from Brooklyn MC, Talib Kweli. It was released on November 17th on his own Javotti Media label. The eleven-track album features collaborations with: Anderson .Paak, Jay Electronica, Yummy Bingham, Waka Flocka, Amber Coffman, Myka 9, BJ the Chicago Kid, Rick Ross, Yummy Bingham, Datcha, Bilal and Robert Glasper.

The project has been getting great reviews since its release, confirming, once again, that Talib Kweli is one of the few hip-hop artist that’s keeping the music and culture authentic. It also cements his legendary status in the industry.

Hip-hop and R&B lovers based in Chicago, Illinois are in for a treat this December, as Musiq Soulchild, Erykah Badu, De La Soul and Common are all confirmed for the Wintrust Arena on December 9th. The venue is located at 200 E. Cermak in Chicago and the organizers are anticipating a sold out show.

The event, which is dubbed The V Show, will begin promptly at 7:30 PM and tickets, which range from $59 to $129, are now available via Ticketmaster.
