On May 20th, Grammy nominated hip-hop star, Rapsody, shared the official video for her song “Pay Up.” As we’ve come to expect from her, Rapsody’s visuals are on point! This one was directed by Brian Petchers, who delivered a colorful, captivating story to compliment the song.

Hip-hop’s living legend, Nasir Jones, PKA Nas, will give an intimate and interactive performance at Moose’s Tooth Pub (3300 Old Seward Hwy) in Anchorage, AK on Saturday, June 9th. Doors will open at 6 PM and the show will start at 7 PM sharp!

There is a lot of mix feelings about the visuals for J Cole’s ATM. Some people are really feeling it and labeling it as a whole next level in hip-hop, while others are saying it’s lame, wack etc. As far as we here at MJ Magazine is concerned, both the song and the video are on point. We fully endorse and support J Cole and what he’s doing.
Unfortunately, many people miss the underlying message, which is simply that “money isn’t everything” and “we shouldn’t sell ourselves for this money.”

“Bag U Up” is the new hip-hop single from Donte (who is a part of the group Mood and Space Invadaz). The track features Javotti Media’s emcee, K’Valentine, as well as Aiyo Sophia. It was produced by J Dilla.
The 2018 Atlanta Funk Fest is a three-day event which will take place at the Wolf Creek Amphitheater in Atlanta, Georgia from May 18th through to the 19th.
On the 18th the main attraction will be performances from: R.B.R.M. (Ronnie, Bobby, Rickey, Mike), Lil Kim and 702. On the 19th, hip-hop king pin Nas will be the highlight. He will be supported by Goodie Mob, Youngbloodz, Bilal and more. While Charlie Wilson and Loose Ends will be the headliners for the 20th.
