It is always awesome when hip-hop and reggae collide on the same track! On this occasion it is even more special because of who the artists are: respected New Jersey MC Redman and U.S. Virgin Islands’ reggae singer Pressure Busspipe.

The multi-talented drummer from The Roots, Questlove, will be displaying his DJ skills this Saturday, September 21st at Public Works (161 Erie Street) in San Francisco, California.

On his single, Star Wars, Canadian hip-hop artist Tha Vor gets deep as he laments about the power struggle taking place on the spiritual plane. Using references from the Book of Enoch, Tha Vor (when explaining the inspiration behind the song) says: “rulers and leaders above our perception engage in a war, basically a fight for power.”
The official video for Star Wars was released on September 10th. Shot by Die Fire Films, a Toronto production company, the video is extremely captivating as it takes viewers on a suspense filled journey.
Fans and supporters of Tha Vor should pay attention because this will be the first video from an upcoming project that will include 4 other videos, with the end result being a 5 part mini movie based on his life.

At the end of August Pusha-T dropped his new single entitled “Coming Home” featuring the one and only Ms. Lauryn Hill. The record, which was produced by Kanye West, created a lot of buzz when it first came out, but that was due in part to the names on the project.
If you are a real hip-hop lover I encourage you to listen to the actual lyrics of the song. Everyone on the project delivered in a major way: the beat is amazing, Pusha-T came strong and Ms. Lauryn Hill showed us why she does not need to voice frequently.

Jahliybyrd’s Croptober Festival will take place on Sunday, October 13th at The Midway in San Francisco, California from 12 PM to 12 AM.
The event will feature performances by hip-hop heavy wieght Dead Prez, reggae / dancehall stars Sizzla Kalonji and Gyptian, as well as a slew of other established acts.

On Thursday, November 7th, rap artists Ludacris and Nelly will perform at Mission Ballroom, located at 4242 Wynkoop Street in Denver, Colorado. This show, which is a 16 and older event, will start at 7:30 PM MST.

On September 19th Big K.R.I.T. will kick off his ‘From the South with Love Tour’ in Tampa, Florida. This tour features approximately forty shows spread out across the United States of America.
