Toronto Mass Choir’s “Hymns Alive” Album Set to Revive Tradition with a Modern Twist

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, Toronto Mass Choir is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of its highly anticipated album, “Hymns Alive,” scheduled to hit the streaming services on May 4, 2024. This dynamic 14-track live album promises to breathe new life into long-established hymns with fresh arrangements spanning various musical genres, from reggae and jazz to traditional and contemporary gospel.

The journey towards the album release has been marked by the successful debut of two singles: “O That Will Be Glory,” released on February 23, and “Satisfied,” released on April 12. These singles have set the stage for what listeners can expect to hear, an unforgettable musical experience captured in the new album.

Led by the renowned Toronto Mass Choir, the album features exceptional solo performances by Patricia Shirley, Londa Larmond, Renee Rowe, Nicole Sinclair Anderson, and Kerroy Williams – all special guest artists who contributed their unique talents to the recording process.

To celebrate the album’s launch, the Toronto Mass Choir invites fans and music enthusiasts alike to an exciting album release concert on Saturday, May 4, 2024. The concert will take place at Malvern Christmas Assembly in Scarborough, starting at 7:30 PM.

Voting For SAGMA Members Ends This Weds.

On April 10th, SAGMA members were invited to begin casting their votes in the first Stellar Awards ballot. Their choices are important as they help to decide the top entries that will advance to the final round. Voting will end this Wednesday, April 17.

Once the three stages of voting are complete, nominees for the 39th annual Stellar Award will be announced. Eligible Stellar Academy members can click here to vote.

Sinach Shares Visuals For “Confessions”

At the end of March, on the 29th, international music minister Sinach shared the official video for her song Confessions. Though the single is available on streaming platforms now, it will also be featured on Sinach‘s upcoming project, Sounds of Victory (Live), which is due out in June of this year.

Richie Stephens To Headline Gospel Concert In Sav

St. George’s Anglican Church is gearing up to deliver a gospel concert like no other! On Saturday, April 27th, they will present international reggae artist Richie Stephens live at the Sean Lavery Faith Hall in Savanna la Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica.

Stephens, who is the producer of the wildly popular Street Gospel compilation, will be doing a full gospel set. He will be supported several local Christian acts. Showtime is 6:00 p.m., and admission is $3,000 JMD for adults and $1,500 for children.

‘I Hear Music In The Air’ 2024 Concert

The annual I Hear Music in the Air Concert will be held at the Corinthian Baptist Church – 1920 Tennesee Avenue – in Cincinnati, Ohio next month (Friday, May 17th). In mid March, Trinidadian recording artist Positive blessed us with a new single called Company. Using a blend of soca and African amapiano music, he sings about the importance of having God’s company (pun intended) in his life.

‘Taste & Tunes’ Featuring Terrian

Singer-songwriter Terrian – who was first introduced to us as a vocalist in TobyMac‘s Diverse City band – and the Angel Street Choir will perform at the upcoming Taste & Tunes being presented at Harding Academy (1100 Cherry Road) in Memphis, Tennessee.
