The former queen of the dancehall, Lady Saw, who is now doing gospel under her birth name Marion Hall, has announced that she is working on a dancehall-gospel album.

The idea was initiated after she released two dancehall songs: “Mi Soon Alright” and “From Mi Born” at the end of December. The tracks, which were well received by both gospel and secular listeners, were done to address certain things that were said about her by other female dancehall artists.

A few days ago R&B gospel artist Koryn Hawthorne shared a live performance of “Speak To Me,” a song featured on her latest album, “I Am.” The full project, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Album Chart and #2 on Billboard’s Gospel Consumption Chart, was released in September, 2020.

On Friday, January 29th at 9:00 PM (JA time), dancehall-gospel artist Mykal Malachi will host a listening party for his upcoming EP, “Rise to Greatness.” The event will stream live on both his Facebook page and YouTube channel.

“Congratulations,” track number twelve (12) on Ada Ehi‘s new album “Born of God,” now has some visuals. The official video was uploaded to her YouTube channel on January 19th and has so far racked up well over three-hundred thousand (300,000) views.

The National Baptist Convention has aligned with producers, Terk Entertainment Group and OCTET Productions, to produce “The 2021 Inaugural Gospel Celebration: An Evening of Inspiration and Unity“. The two-hour virtual event features performances from the following artists: Fred Hammond, Marvin Sapp, Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, Tye Tribbett, Jonathan McReynolds, Koryn Hawthorne and a host of others.

The event is dedicated to celebrating the January 2021 Inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. It will also serve as a fundraising effort, benefiting The National Baptist Convention’s “I’m In”, a strategic initiative aimed at narrowing the disparity in healthcare in the African American community that has been highlighted during the current pandemic.
