Barrington Levy, the legendary Reggae superstar has been hospitalized after falling gravely ill. After running a dangerously high temperature he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where he was diagnosed with Dengue Fever.
The artist was scheduled to perform last night (Friday, September 25th) in Santa Barbara, and on Sunday the 27th at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles on the ‘Catch A Fire’ tour with Damian ‘Junior Gong’ Marley.
Three days ago, Jim Kelly, the CEO of Real Linx Records, and a producer in his own right, released the official video for his single ‘nuh trust nobody,’ featuring Bastic. The release of the video is very timely because the song is currently on heavy rotation in major street dances across Jamaica.
The video, which was directed by Essron Woolcock from Ezzi Visuals, features some choreographed dance scenes in front of Port Royals’ beautiful blue sea. Those were contrasted by some more aggressive images of persons reciting the song’s hook, ‘mi nuh trust nobody.’ The latter was shot in and around the Dunkirk community in Kingston, with the entire shoot taking only one day.

Near and dear to Busy’s heart is his foundation, the Busy 2020 Helping Hands Foundation. The aim of the organization is to reach children and young people with the aim to tackle issues such as violence, poverty and lack of health care access. Launched in April, 2015, the Foundation has worked with, and donated much needed medical equipment to, the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital in an effort to make medical access readily available for people in that area of Jamaica.

After releasing a video explaining his side of the now public feud with Mr. Vegas, Red Rat has released a track entitled ‘pray for bad mind.’ And although Mr. Vegas name was not mentioned at all on the record, it is obvious that the conflict between the two men is what inspired the song.
On a more positive note, fans of Red Rat should be happy that he is engaged in what we hope is an intense musical war, because that would mean lots of new music from the double R leader. ‘Pray for bad mind’ shows that Red Rat is still very lyrical. Check out the track here, and remember to share.

The music legend, who rose to stardom in the late 1980s and early 1990s, was one of the first dancehall artists to crossover in hip hop and pop music collaborating with Kris Kross, Notorious B.I.G., Neptunes and Sugar Ray.
