Jamaican dancehall artist General Degree stops traffic with his brand-new collection of dancehall anthems on From The 90s, available worldwide from all major digital retailers on August 12, 2016, with pre-order available now, from Fox Fuse. Born Cardiff Butt in Mandeville, Jamaica, the world-renowned dancehall deejay (Jamaican rapper) blasted onto the music scene over 20 years ago, and has remained a mainstay on airwaves and playlists ever since. Consistently touring and keeping his brand relevant with fans – a rare accomplishment in the dancehall genre, this timeless artist now returns with a collection of new hits to satisfy dancehall aficionados, globally.

From The 90s is stacked with 14 thrilling tracks that cover the spectrum of dancehall music, spewing throwback 90s sounds to deliver new classics for the times. Acclaimed Jamaican producers add authentic flavors to General Degree’s dancehall mastery, with the likes of Steven “Lenky” Marsden, Craig “Craigy T” Thompson(of T.O.K.), Andre “Suku” Gray (of Ward 21), and Hitmaker Muzik. Atlanta, GA – The inaugural Electric Dancehall Atlanta will take place at the newly refurbished WildPitch Music Hall, located at 255 Trinity Avenue, Atlanta, GA on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 10pm to 3am.  The highly anticipated special event is set to be the premier gathering for the progressive Atlanta Caribbean music and EDM movements, bringing fans together in the downtown area for one night only.  Advance tickets can be purchased for $20 at www.electricdancehallatlanta.eventbrite.com. Everyone is invited to be a part of what is sure to be an exciting evening of dancing and socializing.

Currently many songs on the Billboard Top 100 feature elements of Dancehall and other Afro-Caribbean genres.  Artists like Drake, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, & Justin Bieber have used these same elements to connect with a larger audience.  Electric Dancehall aims to present a new way that the world can party by compelling the audience to engage with their music in a more energetic way, forgo their musical or cultural affiliations for one night, and let the DJs cater to their inner dancing urge.

Headlining Electric Dancehall Atlanta will be DJ Mars, Shane Talon, ĀGARD, Highlanda Sound, and DJ Passport. The night will be hosted by the genre-bending Jamaican performer and songwriter, Dreggae.

Karamanti has just released the official video for her single “Don’t Give Up,” recorded on the Missing Piece Riddim by Rhome Records. The Riddim also features Khago, Teflon and several other Jamaican artists.

“Don’t Give Up” is a motivational track that would be classified as Caribbean pop (though it has a very strong dancehall sound). A few scenes for the video were shot in Ontario, Canada, while others were done in Kingston, Jamaica. Unlike most music videos, “Don’t Give Up” does not have any actors, instead, real, everyday people were asked about their dreams, obstacles and determination, or lack thereof. After sharing their story, they were followed with a camera so that the public could get a glimpse into their struggles and their commitment to not giving up.

DJ Sultan’s latest project features multi-award winner, Jamaican dancehall star Elephant Man with the Pop/Dancehall single “Hip Sings.” Known as the “Energy God,” Elephant Man who was once signed with New York-based label Bad Boy Records, is world renowned for his songs and dances and has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, as well as received international recognition when Puma used his single “All Out” for its 2004 Olympics commercial campaign.
