The 2020 Melbourne Splash Festival will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at Seaworks – 82 Nelson Place, Williamstown – in Victoria, Australia. It is scheduled to run from 1:00 to 10:00 PM UTC.
One of the headlining acts for this year is international reggae / dancehall artist Anthony B.
Ding Dong has just released the official video for “Watch Dem,” a song that aggressively deals with issues of jealousy, envy etc. The track, which was produced by Chimney Records, came out on November 18th, 2019.

The 2020 Welcome To Jamrock Reggae Cruise will set sail at the end of November (through December) with two cruise and one huge lineup! The organizers have already confirmed that both hip-hop legend Nas and iconic dancehall artist Shabba Ranks will be on board.

On Friday, February 21st, Jamaica’s energy god, Elephant Man, will join the likes of Nailah Blackman, Kes, Motto and others at the Maracas Beach in Trinidad and Tobago for a carnival beach party like no other; The Karukera One Love International Beach Festival! One of the most exciting thing about this event is that the stage will be built in the sea!

Initially planned for the 8th, Buju Banton‘s concert has been postponed and is now scheduled for February 15th at the KICC in Nairobi, Kenya. Please see below the official press release from the organizers, NRG Radio, explaining why they had to push back the show.

Thank you all so much, especially the thousands of you who have purchased tickets to the much anticipated Buju Bunton Concert which was slated for this Saturday- 8th Feb 2020 at KICC. Unfortunately, and in the spirit of celebrating and in honour of the presidential proclamation on the passing away of H.E Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi – we have been forced to postpone the event following the announcement of a period of National Mourning. The viewing of the Former president Moi’s body is slated for Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th at parliament which presents a logistical challenge to host the event at KICC.
In this regard and with close consultation with the Government and the venue management- we have postponed the event from 8th February 2020 to 15th February 2020, at the same venue- KICC from 6pm. Please be advised that we shall honour all the tickets already purchased, all sponsors and Partners. Our line-up remains the same and Buju Bunton is fired up to deliver a great show. We are committed to ensure that we live up to all our fans expectations.

Since 2008 when it was first announced that February will be dedicated to the celebration of reggae music and all its sub-genres, this time of year has arguably become the busiest for persons within the music industry in Jamaica.
The festivities kicked off on Saturday, February 1st with two events: 1) the first of six free ‘Children of the Icons’ concerts in Sam Sharpe Square, Montego Bay, which featured performances from the offspring of some of Jamaica’s greatest performers, as well as several emerging artistes; and 2) ‘Remembering Dennis Brown’, a gathering at the resting place of the icon to commemorate his 63rd birthday.
On Sunday, February 2nd both the Ministry of Culture and the Jamaican Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA), once again asked Fellowship Tabernacle to host this year’s Church Service to officially launch Reggae Month in Jamaica. A number of special guests were in attendance and the service, which started at 10:00 AM, was open to the general public.
The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports, the National Gallery of Jamaica (NGJ) and the Jamaica Music Museum in association with La Philharmonie de Paris are now inviting the public to visit the Gallery all month long to check out the Jamaica Jamaica Exhibition! This exhibition brings together rare memorabilia, photographs, visual art, audio recordings and footage unearthed from Jamaica’s best museums and most elusive collectors and studios, while collaborating with legendary local visual artists to convey the essence of a true Jamaican music experience.
A couple of other noteworthy events that will take place all month long are: JARIA Reggae Wednesdays (live performances from various established and emerging artists at Emancipation Park every Wednesday) and JARIA University (an opportunity to learn more about the music industry every Thursday).
