Jamaican recording artiste Kass Smith has joined forces with reggae veteran Chuck Fenda for “The Chosen Ones,” a powerful new reggae single released on September 18, 2026. Produced by renowned saxophonist and producer Dean Fraser, with Kass Smith serving as executive producer, the collaboration delivers a message centred on inner power, unity, and the spiritual mysticism within us all.
“The Chosen Ones” grew from Smith’s desire to create a song addressing emotional, physical, spiritual and financial abundance. After being introduced to Chuck Fenda through their mutual connection, Smith felt that Fenda’s distinctive voice and perspective would complement the song’s message. The collaboration subsequently developed into a recording that Smith hopes will encourage listeners to look within themselves and recognize their own potential.
The project took approximately six months to complete and involved contributors across several countries. Smith initially recorded in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with Demoy Thomas, while Chuck Fenda recorded his contribution in New Jersey, USA. The track was then reviewed and adjusted in Germany with Teacha Dee before Smith returned to Jamaica, where the recording was completed with Dean Fraser and Rommel Marshall.
Accompanying the single is an official music video that maintains a Jamaican feel while expanding the visual presentation to include elements of Latin America, Africa and other regions. The international scope of the video complements the song’s broader themes of unity and connection.
“The Chosen Ones” is now available for download and streaming on major digital streaming platforms.
