Honoring a Legend: 2nd Annual Bunny Wailer Symposium Returns to UWI Mona

The Bunny Wailer Foundation, in association with the Reggae Studies Unit, will host the 2nd Annual Bunny Wailer Symposium on April 9 at 6:00 PM. It will take place at the Neville Hall Lecture Theater at University of the West Indies, bringing together scholars, cultural practitioners, and reggae enthusiasts for an evening of reflection.

Curated by Reggae Rituals, the symposium features a distinguished lineup including Bongo Jerry Small, Kareece Lawrence, Dr. Clinton Hutton, and Dr. K’adamawé K’nife. The discussion will be moderated by Elaine Wint. Adding a musical dimension, Dutty Bookman and Dr. Dennis Howard will deliver a segment titled “Musically Speaking”, and there will be a live performance by Warrior King.

This year’s staging, themed “Sound & Majesty”, commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Blackheart Man album and the 60th anniversary of H.I.M Groundation, honoring the enduring legacy of Bunny Wailer and his impact on reggae music and Rastafari culture.
