A couple years after it was first published, “Pray for the World,” a powerful, heartfelt gospel tune penned and performed by secular recording artist Mr. Pike, is now being reshared. 

“Pray for the World” was conceptualized during a time when everyone was grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath. The devastating images we were seeing on our television sets and smart devices were downright scary. They made believers, non-believers, agnostics, and everyone in between call on God like never before.  

Creators, regardless of whether they specialized in videos, music, poetry, films, etc., threw themselves into their crafts and responded to that moment in history in various ways. Mr. Pike reacted by creating “Pray for the World” audio and visuals.

His prowess as both a songwriter and producer is on full display as he, along with co-producer Jonathan Wells, masterfully captures the attention of listeners with what can aptly be described as a depressing yet honest record. And although the coronavirus is behind us, the song’s general message, which is a plea for God’s help, is still very relevant today, as it will be tomorrow and always.
