The agricultural community of Mocho is gearing up to showcase Jamaica’s agricultural excellence at the highly anticipated Mocho Pear Festival. Initially scheduled for an earlier timeframe, organizers have announced a new official date for the gathering: Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Lennon High School.

Attendees can look forward to a diverse, family-friendly lineup of activities that celebrates regional farming and explores creative culinary uses of the avocado. The event will also feature a marketplace for local entrepreneurs and vendors.

Additionally, the festival will feature a robust entertainment segment with performances by Duane Stephenson, Aaron Silk, D Burnz, Iyasimba, the Gooden Sisters, Orkyd, Buzz, In2Nation Band, and others.

Amsterdam Reggae Festival has confirmed British-Jamaican reggae veteran Macka B for its inaugural winter edition on Saturday, February 27, 2027. The festival has also announced Jamaican singer Jesse Royal as its latest addition. Both artists join Shiwa, one of the first performers announced on a lineup that continues to grow.

With a career spanning more than four decades, Macka B is one of reggae’s most enduring and respected voices. His music draws on roots reggae, dub and dancehall, and he’s known for his conscious lyrics and commanding live sets. His confirmation gives the festival’s first winter edition a strong anchor.

Macka B recently released “Memories,” a tribute to the golden era of reggae, which became available on July 23, 2026, via Chinelo Records.

Recorded over the Diverse Doctrine Riddim, the track looks back at the vibrant dancehall culture of the 1970s, a time when Roots Reggae dominated Jamaican parties. Driven by authentic reggae instrumentation and engaging lyrics, “Memories” captures the energy and spirit of that era and is available on 7-inch vinyl, as well as across major digital streaming platforms.

Jamaican reggae singer Iba Mahr has released the official music video for his latest single, “Sweet Lies,” a collaboration with producer Kheilstone. The video premiered on September 18, 2026, and is available on Iba Mahr’s YouTube channel. “Sweet Lies” was first shared on July 31 through Audovic Nation, under exclusive license to UnitedMasters.

The song is a melancholic love story in which Iba Mahr confronts his woman who he believes is no longer in love with him. He tells her that she is feeding him “sweet lies,” while he can see the truth written plainly on her face.

The accompanying video keeps things deliberately simple, with Iba Mahr seated on a couch as he delivers the song. There are no elaborate storylines or distractions, allowing his vocal performance and the emotion behind the lyrics to take center stage. Veteran Jamaican reggae artist Cedric Myton has teamed up with Brazil-based DJ and producer Freedom Sounds for “Blue Sky,” an inspirational roots reggae recording featuring Jacko Bagatini. Released on September 11, 2026 via Marroquino Estudio, the song celebrates the beauty of life, nature and the earth while giving thanks to the Most High for the gift of life.

Written by Myton, “Blue Sky” also highlights the uplifting power of music, the importance of movement and exercise, and the simple beauty of sunshine and blue skies. The recording was produced, mixed and mastered by Jacko Bagatini and recorded at Marroquino Estudio in Canoa Quebrada, Brazil.

An official music video was also released on September 11. It features Myton enjoying nature, relaxing and performing the song in what appears to be various locations in Brazil. Filmed with an iPhone 15 Pro Max and edited by Selectah Nobeat of Falamemo Studio, the bright visual complements the song’s positive energy. The video is available on Freedom Sounds’ YouTube channel.
