“420” has come to represent a global day of celebration of cannabis by enthusiasts, advocates and stakeholders. With its genesis as the representation of a criminal code from the US penal system, the day and number now stands for one of celebration, and to mark how far the industry and pervasive attitudes have evolved, while also acknowledging the distance still to be travelled. Jamaica and ‘Jamaican Ganja’ stand as the defining cultural references for generations in their association with cannabis, its use, and its therapeutic healing.
BushBash 420 will bring this global celebration to the shores of the Caribbean via Jamaica, a country that arguably has had the most significant impact on the world as far as it’s association with cannabis through religion, ideology, music and culture.
