New Reggae Video: Etana – Truly (@EtanaStrongOne)

etana

Jamaican song-bird, Etana, continues to surge as she carves a path for her dominant role as a female vocalist within the reggae industry. Prior to the corona virus pandemic, which halted the movement of virtually everyone, Etana was in the midst of a world tour. Once covid-19 became a reality however, she simply changed her focus and turned her attention to other areas as opposed to stopping.

That being said, on Friday, April 17th Etana released the official video for her song Truly. The record was initially shared in mid March and proved to be just what we needed as we’re locked up at home with our significant other. Sweden’s #1 Dancehall Artist Etzia Collaborates With Sean Paul On Latest Single (@EtziaMusic @duttypaul)

sean paul etziaOn Friday, April 17th, Swedish dancehall artist Etzia shared her highly anticipated single ‘Let My Spirit Fly.’ The record is a collaboration done with international recording artist Sean Paul — the man behind mega hits like ‘Get Busy,’ ‘Gimme the Light’ and ‘No Lie.’

‘Let My Spirit Fly’ was conceptualized last March while Etzia and producer Partillo (who has worked with Chronixx, Anthony B, Christopher Martin, Charly Black, Collie Buddz, Machel Montano, Norris Man, Wayne Wonder, Fantan Mojah and others) were visiting Kingston, Jamaica. Shortly after their arrival they went to the deejay’s home to work on the song and was greeted by an overzealous Sean Paul, who apparently loved the rhythm so much that he immediately began creating lyrics and melodies. Needless to say it did not take long to complete this record.

Before returning to Sweden, Etzia and Partillo did a mini media tour on the island as they were gearing up to release Etzia‘s debut album “Motvation.” The hard work paid off as tracks from the project enjoyed respectable rotation on several major stations in Jamaica as well as overseas (Irie FM, David Rodigans’ show 1xtra on BBC radio etc.).

Though ‘Let My Spirit Fly’ is on the “Motvation” album, Partillo, Etzia and the rest of the team wanted to share it now. Their position is as follows: “this single is a freedom song dedicated to people struggling with their inner battle. In these times, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, Let My Spirit Fly inspires hope and understanding for the individual and world we live in.”

Ras Slick Releases New Music “God Is So Good To Me” (@rasslick)

ras slick black n whiteA few days ago international recording artist, Ras Slick, released a new single titled “God Is So Good To Me.” Though the song was written in 2017 he thought it prudent to make it public now, with the objective being to inspire listeners to look to God in these trying times.

The record was inspired by a request from his mother, who is a pastor and wanted him to write a song about God. Though he is not a christian himself, Ras Slick is a strong believer and does not hide the fact that he tries to keep his music and overall lifestyle in line with the Word.

“God Is So Good To Me” was recorded and mastered at Slick‘s own My Time Studio by his engineer Kappah Records. Production credit goes to both Good Look Record and JMK Instrumentals.

Since the release of the track, Ras Slick, with the assistance of the Maria Jackson team, has been doing interviews to get the word out about both the song and its accompanied visuals.
