The Jamaica Sound System Festival celebrates sound system culture from across the world. It brings together players of Jamaican music (reggae, dub, ska, roots and dancehall) on one big stage. This year’s festival will take place on August 12th at Grizzly’s Planation Cove in Priory, St. Ann, Jamaica.
Hosted by Bass Odyssey Sound System, this year’s SoundFEST will feature a traditional ‘early warm’ segment where 2 to 3 sounds will take turns vibing with the crowd before the more established sounds begin at 11pm. SoundFEST 2017 will also see the return of live performances by some of the biggest artists in reggae and dancehall.

On May 29th, American residents will have a public holiday as they celebrate Memorial Day. For those based in Florida, this means it’s time for the annual Palm Beach Jamaican Jerk Festival. One of the headlining acts for this year is Mr. Singy Singy, Tarrus Riley, who will be supported by Dean Fraser and the Blak Soil Band.
The Palm Beach Jamaican Jerk Festival takes place on Monday, May 29th at West Palm Beach, Florida 33401. It starts at 4PM and goes until midnight.

Miss Wizz Production will be hosting both Bushman and Jah Mason at Villa Loyola in St. Ann tonight. Villa Loyola is located at the Mammee Bay Estate, next to the Riu Hotel.
In addition to the live entertainment, patrons can also expect: ganja and wellness reasoning as well as yoga by Irie Yoga.
The fireman, King Shango, better known as Capleton, will be at the Underground (at the Filmore) in Charlotte, North Carolina tonight. The venue is located at 820 Hamilton Street and the event, which is a part of the ‘Rise Above Tour,’ will begin at 9:30 PM sharpe!
The show is being hosted by The Knock Brothers as well as Reggae Central, and tickets are available via Live Nation.
Capleton will be supported by the Prophecy Band.
Tonight, Bourbon Beach in Negril comes alive with arguably the most anticipated all white party in the city. What makes this event special is that the dancehall King, Beenie Man, will be performing live.
Hosted by MochaFest, the event will start at 9 PM and go until 2 AM. Additional music will be provided by Ukno JB, DJ Tat Tat and Mega Squad.

Jamaican reggae artist, Damian Marley, arguably the most famous of the Bob Marley children, will perform in Utrecht, Netherlands. He is confirmed for Ronda / TivoliVredenburg on Wednesday, June 14th between the hours of 7PM to 11PM.
Damian Marley’s big break came in 2005 with the song ‘Welcome To Jamrock,’ a reggae / hip-hop crossover track that became somewhat of a street anthem in dancehall sessions worldwide. Since then, he has continuously released hit singles and projects, even collaborating with popular hip-hop artist, Nas.
