New Reggae Radio Show in Aarhus, Denmark

Jam Yard Promotion will be launching a new Reggae radio show on 98.7 fm in Aarhus, Denmark. The program will air this and every Thursday from 11am to 12pm GMT and will focus on Jamaican music, culture and lifestyle. The hosts, Henzel Clarke and DJ Dave Q who are both Jamaicans see this as an opportunity to spread an awareness of authentic Jamaican culture while simultaneously playing their part to help Aarhus become the European City of Culture for 2017.

When asked what listeners can expect from this radio show, Henzel Clarke had this to say, “On this program we go back to basic pay tribute to some of the pioneers and veterans that have paved the way. We will discuss current affairs and the latest news in the Reggae industry, updates about the latest and hottest events, concerts, festivals in Aarhus, Scandanavia and wider Europe. You can expect quality Reggae Music…Classic Music with absolutely no explicit or degrading lyrical content”

Denmark is fast becoming one of the more desired locations for Reggae artists touring Europe. Though the audience for the genre is more humble in size compared to Germany and Belgium, there is a growing underground scene for Reggae and even Dancehall lovers in Denmark. Copenhagen (the capital of Denmark) already has clubs and scenes dedicated to live music and every week there is at least one Reggae band playing at a venue there. 2015 will see Aarhus City hosting its first Reggae Festival. This is another Jam Yard initiative.

Cocoa Tea has not graced a stage at a major concert in NY in several years. The veteran reggae singjay is rearing to unleash hits ‘Rocking Dolly,’ ‘Riker’s Island,’ ‘I Lost My Sonia,’ ‘Can’t Stop Cocoa Tea’ and ‘Good Life’ at this year’s ‘Ladies Ball,’ the first major reggae/R&B concert on the entertainment calendar in the NY area for 2015.

The event, slated to take place at the exquisite Resort World Casino ballroom in Queens, New York on Sunday, February 8 2015 will also feature R&B hit machine Freddy Jackson, Richie Stephens and Sanchez. Freddie_Jackson

“With Valentines Day just a few weeks away, the time is perfect to present another intimate, up close and personal concert for the ladies” said event promoter Bobby Clarke.

In October, Jackson proved his star power, delivering one of the best performances at the ‘Soul In The Sun’ festival in Montego Bay. He is expected to have his way with the ladies again with ballads like ‘You Are My Lady,’ ‘Rock Me Tonight’ and ‘Tasty Love.’

Equally enrapturing will be Jamaica Music Ambassador Richie Stephens who enjoyed a stellar year in 2014 with ‘Everybody Dance.’ He is expected to own the stage with nostalgic anthems ‘My Girl Dis,’ ‘Come Give Me Your Love,’ ‘Winner’ and ‘Live Your Life.’

Sanchez, whose star shone the brightest at the inaugural ‘Ladies Ball’ last year, returns to ignite the stage with musical flames with favorites like ‘I Can’t Wait’, ‘Lonely Won’t Leave Me Alone’, ‘Here I Am’, ‘Missing You’ and ‘Chronic.’

Other performers include NY based KConeil and Lady Saw who will shed her hardcore persona for the more palatable Marion Hall.
