“Smile Jamaica” is the new, various artists, album by the German soundsystem and producer team Silly Walks Discotheque (from Hamburg). Since their last album, “Sorms of Life” released in 2012, Silly Walks have scored some massive worldwide Reggae hits such as “Smile Jamaica” by Chronixx and “Dreams of Brighter Days” by Busy Signal & RC, both featured on the new album.

Most of the tracks are brand new exclusives and feature vocalists like Jesse Royal, Ikaya, Gentleman & Torch, Patrice, Marcia Griffiths, Assassin a.k.a. Agent Sasco and Christopher Martin, and that is just to name a few. Most of the riddims on the album have been played by Gentleman’s band, “the Evolution,” lead by the drummer Joe Coppola, while other riddims have been programmed by Jr Blender who has been working on most of Silly Walks’ recent releases.

After the unexpected release of two new tracks “Can’t Feel No Way” and “Glad You’re Home” within the past week, reggae star Protoje reveals he is set to deliver a new project, Royalty Free on June 14th.

Protoje shares the cover art and track listing from the forthcoming project, designed by Jamaican visual artist Taj Francis.

Regarded as one of Jamaica’s most promising young acts, self contained band, Raging Fyah, has recently released their third studio album “Everlasting” to rave reviews from fans and music industry alike.

“Everlasting” made its debut last week at #2 on the billboard charts, and adding to this feat it is now #3 in Japan, while the single Live Your Life featuring J Boog and Busy single is #4.

Recorded live at Kingston’s legendary Tuff Gong Studio producer Llamar “Riff Raff” Brown (whose credits include Stephen and Damian Marley, Richie Spice, T.O.K and 2016 Grammy Award winners Morgan Heritage) incorporates broad based influences, various acoustic subtleties, and a few guest artists, all of which enhances as well as expands Raging Fyah’s established reggae identity.

Emerging reggae artist, Kappo, has released the official video for his fast rising track, “sensimillia.” In the video, Kappo indicated which side he is on in the ongoing conversation about the legalization of ganja, particularly on the island of Jamaica. He and his team made it a point of duty to include a scene which shows them publicly demonstrating for the acceptance of marijuana.

Several clips in the video were shot in Westmorland (in Jamaica), one of the parishes known for growing cannabis in abundance. Following the video shoot, Kappo had this to say: “I think the decriminalization or legalization of marijuana is of much importance. If you look around you’ll see other countries gravitating towards this, especially for medicinal purposes, so we as Jamaicans need to also make a move in this direction.”

The song “Sensimillia” is now getting serious rotation on reggae platforms worldwide. The reviews from experienced, established reggae DJs (based in different parts of the world) are overwhelmingly positive. Since its release, Kappo has been extremely busy doing interviews, dubs, appearances etc. Several members of his team believe that the release of the official video will now intensify his schedule and possibly propel him further in the music industry.
