Reggae Artist Chronixx to Debut in Japan (@ChronixxMusic)

00_Chronixx_004+1The fireworks for Mighty Crown’s 25th Anniversary have officially erupted, as the renowned International sound has tapped mega Reggae artist Chronixx to join the celebration with two epic concerts in Japan later this month! Slated for Osaka and Kawasaki, Chronixx and the Zinc Fence Redemption band will appear alongside Mighty Crown and Japanese Dancehall group Fire Ball. This is more than just a Mighty Crown milestone, as it marks the “Capture Land” singer’s spectacular Japan debut. From the looks of things, Mighty Crown and Chronixx’s impressive Japanese following couldn’t be more thrilled.

As one of the forerunners of Jamaica’s acclaimed “Reggae Revival,” Chronixx has been making extensive strides since his groundbreaking 2012 breakthrough. With a string of hits like “Smile Jamaica,” “They Don’t Know,” “Behind Curtain,” “Aint No Giving In” and many more blazing the trail, Chronixx is quickly solidifying his position as a bonafide Reggae star. Major appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” and a Central Park concert catapulted the singer’s “Dread & Terrible” EP to the top 10 of the Billboard Top Reggae Album Chart, where it remained for nearly 1 year.

Chronixx’s “Dread and Terrible” tour has landed him, along with the Zinc Fence Redemption band, in places across the Globe. And now, the singer can add the massive Reggae music market of Japan to his growing list of credentials. Making a debut in Japan for Mighty Crown’s 25th Anniversary is an awesome way to show the valuable connection between Reggae artists and sound systems.

Family of Peter Tosh Announces Major Developments On Second Annual International Peter Tosh Day (@PeterTosh)

Peter Tosh

In the year since announcing that the date of 4/20 would be recognized as International Peter Tosh Day, the family of the famed reggae artist and human-rights activist have taken major steps to enable the world to experience Peter’s music and social views. To that end, the family is proud to announce it is launching Peter Tosh 420, a company with a mission to organically grow the Peter Tosh legacy by providing quality cannabis products for medicinal power, spiritual enlightenment and recreational enjoyment.

Peter Tosh 420 is a new venture being formed by the family of Peter Tosh, music and entertainment industry veteran Brian Latture, and cannabis industry leader Steven Trenk of Lizada Capital, LLC. Peter Tosh 420 is poised to capitalize on the current legalization movement.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Steven Trenk, who brings a wealth of experience and immediate industry credibility to our cause,” said Mr. Latture, who manages the Peter Tosh brand and is Chief Executive Manager of the new venture, PT Capital, LLC.

Mr. Trenk, who was an early pioneer investor in the legal cannabis space, agreed, adding “There are few names more synonymous with the Cannabis industry than that of Peter Tosh. I am just thrilled to be partnering with Peter’s family to take a marquee brand like Peter Tosh, who was literally the Godfather of the legalization movement, and spreading his message through Peter Tosh 420. The opportunity to work with the family of this great musician, who dedicated his life to human rights, represents a great honor for Lizada and myself.” 00-peter_tosh__logo_seal_FINAL

“This venture is not just about business, it is about spreading my father’s message of equal rights and justice, while bringing what he believed was a sacred herb to the world and doing good deeds in the process,” said Niambe McIntosh, the Administrator of her father’s estate, and President of PT Capital, LLC.

Peter Tosh 420 will embrace the mind, body, and spirit aspects of the cannabis culture, which Ms. McIntosh believes will build long-term brand loyalty. In addition, proceeds from every sale will be donated to the Peter Tosh Foundation, which will be administered by Peter’s family.

“We want Peter Tosh 420 to be a global force for doing good work, as we collectively believe my father would have wanted. We will support such issues as childhood education, social justice, equal rights, cannabis legalization, and other humanitarian causes,” McIntosh continued.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Peter Tosh’s first solo album and his cannabis anthem “Legalize It.” “We believe history is on our side, and when we tell the story of Peter Tosh, new generations throughout the world will embrace him as a prophet and the true Godfather of the legalization movement,” commented Mr. Latture. He continued, “We also believe Peter’s legacy, along with our commitment to his words and music, will endear a new generation of true believers in his mission, and will make Peter Tosh 420 very successful. We are not just starting a company, we are starting a movement.”

New Reggae Release: Peaceful Demonstration by Black Slate (@BlackSlateRegga)

506xNxblack-slate.jpg.pagespeed.ic.AUpaAxXzl7Available since April 28, 2016 on all digital services worldwide is the album PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION by United Kingdom reggae pioneers: Black Slate. These ten tracks were recorded on the Caribbean island of Antigua and chronicle the journey the group has taken since its inception in 1972. After 40 years in the music business, the deep roots reggae band returns with their first full-length album released since the album SIX PLUS ONE in 1982. Peaceful Demonstration is released on the on TCD Records the label named for Tony, Chris and Desmond, the original members of the band founded in 1972 in the United Kingdom.

Each of the original members chose to take a hiatus from touring life to help raise their families and establish sustainable business ventures. Anthony Brightly remained rooted in the music industry, becoming a driving force in the advancement of Lover’s Rock and UK reggae in general through his work as a Disc Jockey, Club owner, Artiste Manager and event promoter, shaping airplay and artist growth both at radio and in the club setting. Chris Hanson has become a sought after mix and mastering engineer, adding his unique touch to thousands of songs over the past several years right up to the present.

Remaining involved in the industry outside of their band experience as Black Slate, these musicians have observed the global reggae music marketplace and have returned to the studio to present roots reggae with an echo from the analog, live off the floor recording techniques of the 1970’s infused with a modern roots feel, with lyrics that reflect the current landscape.
