D.I.A.L an acronym meaning ‘Devil Is A Liar’ is one of those compositions that slowly seeps into your consciousness and helps to lift the spirit even through its darkest hour. Rebel Salute, the epithet of an authentic Jamaican festival of good music, good food and good vibes will be celebrating 24 years in 2017. It serves a strict vegetarian menu complimented by a diet of cultural roots rap from Reggae’s finest. In tandem with this, is the concept of a drug-free, violence-free and non-alcoholic event.

This is Phillipidon’s 4th single from Music4Life, the Austin-based record label. “Take It In Stride” reminds us that now is the time to act as we should, as stewards of our planet, even in the face of strong opposition; our duties being not only to take care of ourselves as human beings, but also the abundant animal and plant life sharing the Earth with us.

The song is released with two different mixes. One was done in Jamaica by the legendary Steven Stanley (JA Mix) who has mixed all three of Phillipidon’s singles so far released by Music4Life. The second mix was done in Munich, Germany by Umberto Echo (DE Mix) who also mixed the full 10-track Weirdo Riddim album project that will be released later.

Roots Reggae artist Likkle Lightning is back! The “early morning flash” singer recently announced that he will be dropping a new single on October 30^th.  He went on to say that the track – which is entitled “”sunshine,” will serve as a lead up to his album, “condition of life,” that is due out in November.

Thriller U’s latest single is from Music4Life, the Austin-based record label, which is run by radio Disck-Jock and producer, DJ-RJ. Recorded on the Weirdo Riddim, “Isn’t It Wonderful” is about the joy one feels when they are loved and are able to love that special person in return. This single is the first release from the 11-track Weirdo Riddim that will be out later this year. The album features various artistes from the Caribbean and Austin’s vibrant reggae scene, of which RJ is an active member.

This week, Karamanti will publicize the first single from her upcoming EP, “The Black God,” which is slated to be out in February, 2017. The song is a collaboration with reggae veteran Mikey General entitled Back Against The Wall.

Originally recorded for D’Áve Productions’ SoNu Riddim (roots reggae), Back Against The Wall was not released as the label placed the project on hold. They later joined forces with Karamanti’s publishing house, Blakkwuman22 Music, to assist in the production and promotion of the rhythm. That being said, although the single is being released this week, persons can look forward to the entire riddim featuring various artists soon.

Singer Richie Stephens & The Ska Nation Band are heading to Hollywood in November. The Ska group earned a nomination for ‘Best Reggae Album’ at the 7th annual Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA) that takes place on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at The Fonda Theater, 6126 Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles, CA.

The nomination comes less than a year after the release of the group’s debut studio album Internationally, which include hit singles Fire Fire, Foundation, Internationally feat. Sud Sound System, Kingston Salento and Original Style feat. Sean Paul & Gentleman.

The 2016 HMMA recognizes and honors the music of visual mediums including film, TV, movie trailers, video games, commercial and music videos for both mainstream and independent artists from around the globe. The awards event features live music performances, celebrities appearances, award presentations, an exclusive VIP reception, and a dinner banquet.
