Richie-Spice_1Jamaica’s reggae veterans Richie Spice and Lutan Fyah will be the headliners at the 2018 Ganja Fest in Toronto, Ontario. The event takes place on Saturday, July 28th at the Toronto Plaza Hotel (1677 Wilson Ave. West). Richie Spice and Lutan Fyah will be supported by a slew of top-tier Canadian reggae and dancehall artists.

In addition to the live performances, there will also be lectures, poets, health care providers and many more helpful and informative things taking place.

Kevin Downswell Ministries presents “Realignment Chapter 2.” This is a mini tour stopping at the Manning High School in Sav-La-Mar on June 15th, Manchester High School in Mandeville on June 16th and Ranny Williams Center in Kingston on June 23rd.

Joining Kevin Downswell will be Jonathan Nelson, DJ Nicholas, Rondell Positive, Ashaala Shanae and many more.

Lee Scratch PerryThe UK’s award-winning festival of reggae, Positive Vibration, continues to impress, as it adds legendary producer & innovator, Lee “Scratch” Perry to this year’s festival line-up. The Godfather of dub, who kick-started the career of Bob Marley, will be backed by New York-based collective, Subatomic Sound System (Emch, Screechy Dan and Larry McDonald) for a special one-off UK performance.

As well as the Godfather of Dub, the festival will also play host to the Godfather of Drum ‘n’ Bass, as Roni Size makes his long-awaited return to Liverpool. The Bristol-born DJ & producer, who won the 1997 Mercury Prize for his album ‘New Forms’, will be bringing the heat and showing why, even after 20 years, he’s still at the top of his game.

There will also be live performances from the Queen of Lovers Rock, Carroll Thompson, prolific drummer & MC, Horseman and the exceptionally gifted vocalist, King Lorenzo, all of which will be backed by one of the UK’s finest reggae bands, The Upper Cut Band.

Taking place over the 8th & 9th June across the Baltic Triangle, Liverpool, the festival will also feature performances from:

Teflon, Jamaica’s Young King, Is ‘So Determine’ To Share His New EP With You (@TEFLON_JA)

TeflonSo Determine is the latest EP from Reggae/DanceHall Artist Teflon, aka Young King. It features tracks like “Nuh Time Fi Gaze,” from hit producer DJ Wayne, which is already making its way into steady rotation on several radio and video countdown shows. DJ Wayne is also responsible for “Jerusalem,” on which the Young King reminds us of his lyrical ability while delivering a message to remain strong and focused even in the face of adversity.

This EP is nothing short of hit after hit with the captivating riddims of Mafizzieon tracks like “Solid as A Rock,” which focuses on the Blessing of Life itself. Unruly producer Not Nice delivered on the track for “En Memoria,” the heartfelt dedication to those we miss.

The minimum age for this event is 16 years. Persons under the age of 16 may enter with an adult.

Reggae Legends Don Carlos & Johnny Osbourne To Perform In Antwerp, Belgium – June 15th

On Friday, June 15th, veteran reggae artists Don Carlos and Johynny Osbourne will be performing live at the popular Club Zappa in Antwerp, Belgium. Both men will be supported by the Dubvision Band, with additional music by Soul Stereo, Down Beat and Eastend Rock Sounds.

Ruach Ru Working On EP To Be Released This Summer (@RuachRu)

RUACH 3With a trending single, a new band and a slew of public appearances, Ruach Ru is now gearing up to release an EP this summer. The project, which is not yet titled, will feature seven songs on the TideJam Records label. It’s being recorded at Green Links Studio with creative contributions from Claudia Harrison, Matthew Harrison, David Smith and Jupita Redman.

The EP will feature a blend of roots Reggae and Dancehall riddims, all with positive, inspirational messages. Some song titles include: Hold Strong, Time Is Changing, Ride Up, Peace or War, and No More Crying. Mr. Player Man will serve as the lead single, while the seventh song is yet to be decided.

According to Ruach Ru:“All the songs were inspired by life, social conditions and common experiences so audiences can easily relate to them.”
