Lee Scratch Perry & Subatomic Sound System's West Coast Tour Grammy winning dub & reggae pioneer Lee “Scratch” Perry is celebrating the 45th anniversary of his landmark album “Blackboard Jungle Dub,” the world’s first dub album.

Scratch, now 82 years young, will embark on a tour across North America performing his 1973 studio masterpiece live in its entirety for the first time, aided by the
technology of NYC’s Subatomic Sound System, his hybrid band of new school electronics and veteran Jamaican musicians from the Black Ark era recordings. They will also perform music from their album “Super Ape Returns To Conquer,” which topped both reggae and electronic charts in 2018, plus singles like “Black Ark Vampires” and classics from Perry’s work with the likes of Bob Marley, Max Romeo, and many more. Perry’s Blackboard Jungle album includes dub remixes of hit songs he co-wrote with Bob Marley, “Kaya” & “Keep On Movin,” as well as other big tunes from The Wailers and Junior Byles. ‘Pon Di Endz’ Returns On October 31st At A New Location (@RuachRu)

Ruach & Crew At the end of August, reggae recording artist Ruach Ru launched a new concert series dubbed PON DI ENDZ. The concept was to create an atmosphere where artists and
musicians can gather together and freely share their creative expressions while entertaining patrons. The first installment, which took place on Hughenden Avenue, was a success.

The second installment is scheduled for Wednesday, October 31st at a new location: Mello Sports Bar & Lounge, located at 16A West Kings House Road in Kingston (from 7 PM to 12 AM). In addition to hosting PON DI ENDZ on the 31st, Ruach Ru will also be celebrating her birthday; that being said, fans and supporters will be treated to a
special performance.

Artists that have already been confirmed include: Wormbass, WildLife, Sycorah, Earth Tremma and of course Ruach Ru. Additional artists will be added and announced shortly. Backing band for the evening is the Spirit Band. This is a free event and all are invited!

Reggae Artist Zally Seeks Funding For Surgery (@ZallyBuff)

zally Reggae artist Zally has just shared a Press Release in which he is asking his supporters and members of the public to help with the funds needed for his surgery. Here is the full media release.

As many know, I, Zally, have been in the hospital since Thursday September 27th, 2018. I am having surgery on my spine on Monday October 1st, 2018.

Starting in June 2018 I had issues with numbness, tingling, and burning in my left hand. After going to the doctor, I was told I had carpal tunnel and prescribed Voltaren gel which made my condition seem worse. All of a sudden my left knee/leg had weakness, numbness, and stiffness. This grew worse over the past couple of months as it became more difficult to walk. After having an MRI on Friday September 21, 2018 the radiologist discovered that there is compression on my spine, as shown in the picture above. As well as herniated discs and spinal cord deformity. Lately it has been very difficult to get around and one day I fell. I was admitted to the hospital and surgery is the only option. Because of all of this I have not been able to work or do any shows, since I am also a reggae artist. These funds will help with costs related to surgery and bills. Any support is greatly appreciated in this time. Blessed.

Reggae Radio JA, a digital radio station broadcasting from Kingston, Jamaica, has a new web address. On Friday, September 28th, the owners shared that the station can now be streamed from www.zeno.fm/reggaeradioja. Persons who have bookmarked the other link to the station should know that they will still be able to listen via the old site.

known and respected as a Jamaican media that streams strictly clean and conscious reggae and dancehall music, Reggae Radio JA came on the scene several years ago and currently enjoys listenersip from all over the world.

Anthony B To Headline The 8th Annual Donnsa Reggae Festival In Mauritius (@AnthonyBReggae)

The 8th edition of the Donnsa Reggae Festival will take place at the Anjalay Stadium (in Mauritius) on October 20th, 2018. The organizers have confirmed three international reggae acts as headliners: Anthony B, Nkulee Dube and Crosby. Anthony B is a well known Jamaican artist whose lyrics advocate freedom, equality and the need to fight for these values; Nkulee Dube is the daughter of Lucky Dube; and Crosby is the current trending reggae artist in Cape Town. The festival will also feature local artists like: The Prophecy, OSB Crew, Matrix, and many more.

Performances at the Donnsa Reggae Festival will begin at 18h and will continue until the wee hours of the morning. This event is being presented by Live n Direk Entertainment in collaboration with Coulisse VIP.
