On Sunday, February 2nd, Frankie Music will host the Essence Reggae Festival at the Police Officers Club (34 Hope Road) in Kingston, Jamaica, from 4:00 to 10:00 PM.
There will be live performances from Mortimer, Chevaughn, Chris Martin, Kumar, Feluke, and many more artists; with MCs Debbie Bissoon and Dufton Shepherd. DJ Kurt Riley will also be on hand to provide additional music.
General admission is $1,500 JMD, and $1,000 JMD for college students with a valid ID.
On Friday, February 7th, Jamrock Reggae Fest will host international recording artist Ky-Mani Marley, along with his friends, at the Roots Bamboo in Negril, Jamaica.
This event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 PM local time, and there is a $40 USD entrance fee at the gate.
The 2020 staging of the annual Rainforest Seafood & Music Festival will take place on Ash Wednesday, February 26th, at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Center in Montego Bay from 12 noon to midnight.
This year’s lineup includes: Romain Virgo, Luciano, Agent Sasco, Ding Dong, Marion Hall and others; with hosts Miss Kitty and Dufton.
On Saturday, February 1st, Pressure Busspipe will return to Jamaica to promote his new album “Rebel With A Cause.” Catch him live at the Kaya Herb House – 82 Lady Musgrave Road – in Kingston, from 8:00 PM to approximately 1:00 AM the following morning.
In addition to Pressure’s appearance, there will also be live performances from Jah9, Kabaka Pyramid, Lutan Fyah and many other special invited guests.
After what has been a challenging year filled with ups and downs, New York based reggae artist Dan IJ is eager to continue his journey in 2020. That being said, he is re-releasing his song and video, titled “New Beginning.” The project was first shared in 2018 via Dan IJ‘s own Lyfe Productions record label, but was never adequately promoted.
On the powerful reggae record, the singer laments on the importance of letting go of the past and focusing on the here and now, completely committing to the task at hand; while the visuals, which were captured by Blaza Visionz, shows him performing the song in various locations in and around the city of New York.
When asked about the track, Dan IJ said the following: “This is the song to uplift and motivate each and everyone who never make it the year before and is trying to make it whether this year, next year or the following year. The start of a new year is always a new beginning.”
“New Beginning” is being distributed by Zojak Worldwide, and as such, is available for download on all digital music stores.
On Ash Wednesday, February 26th, Team Unstoppable will host the 2020 staging of ‘Trelawny Me Born & Grow’. This year’s lineup will include: Richie Spice, Terry Linen, Shudly, Darrio, Kemar Highcon, Little Hero, Kevin Downswell and Mr. Unstoppable himself, Charly Black.
‘Trelawny Me Born & Grow’ is a family fun day that will run from 11:00 AM to midnight. In addition to the live performances, they will also have bounce-a-bout and merry go round for the kids. Advance tickets are going for $1,000 JMD for adults and $500 for children.
