On Saturday, November 30th, the ‘Republic of Reggae,’ an event dedicated to the celebration of reggae music, will be held at Wet’n Wild (Avenida Luís Viana, 41820-725) in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.
The event will feature a host of top-tier reggae acts, namely: The Gladiators, Max Romeo, The Congos, Sine Calmon, Clinton Fearon, Israel Vibration, Balance Point, Black Adam and Edson Gomes.
One of the groups known for creating Ska and Reggae music, The Skatalites, will return to Nandas Barrio Antiguo (Padre Mier 875, 64018 Monterrey) in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, as they celebrate their 55th anniversary in the industry.
The full band will be on hand to perform a lively set on Thursday, November 14th, from 8:00 PM (local time) to 1:30 AM the following day.
Unity Music Festival is set for Saturday, November 9th at the Festival Village (Soualiga Road) in Philipsburg, Sint Maarten (in the Dutch region). They have added reggae legend Buju Banton as their official headliner, and he in turn is adding the event to his ‘Long Walk to Freedom Tour.’
It is important to note that Banton will be performing with his own Shiloh Band, so patrons are in for a treat, as he is expected to deliver a powerful set.
Grammy nominated Jamaican reggae legend, Sister Carol, will make her long awaited return to Santa Cruz on Sunday, November 17th. She will be performing at Moe’s Alley (1535 Commercial Way) at 9:00 PM local time.
Sister Carol will be supported by Kava Jah and The Remed. This is a 21 and older event and there is an entrance fee of $20 USD.
Reggae artist Jah Mason will be performing at Vekkio Cinema (Corso Riddone, 312040 Corneliano D’alba CN) in Italy on Saturday, November 23rd. He will be supported by the popular Rootz Flava Sound.
This event will begin at 21:30, but the actual performance is scheduled for 22:30.
The roots artist Chezidek, who is known for his spiritually charged music, will be releasing a new album in 2020. The MJE team has just learned that his new project, titled Timeless is on schedule and should be out in March.
The record will be done in collaboration with Europe based group, The Ligerians, who is known and respected for their quality production. Click here to check out the lead single “Beat Dem.”
The Flytime Music Festival is a five day event scheduled for December 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 25th at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
