On Saturday, November 30th, one of Jamaica’s most durable and original reggae producer and artist, Lee Scratch Perry, will perform a set at the Piraeus 117 Academy (Piraeus 117, 11854) in Athens, Greece.
The event, which is being hosted by Xlalala, will begin at 9:00 PM UTC. Les SkartOi is also on the lineup as the opening act.
Organic HEART Group of Companies, in collaboration with Courts Jamaica present Rebel Salute Live on November 29th at the Constant Spring Courts Branch.
This event will feature a live performance by established recording artist George Nooks as well as Notis Heavyweight Rockaz and Torch.
On Friday, December 6th, Roots & Reggae will be hosting an event called ‘Let There Be Reggae’ at The Lab (400 NW 26th Street) in Miami, Florida. Legendary reggae artist Mykal Rose is confirmed as a special guest performer.
Additional music will be provided by Iiconz Luga, Fiyah Yout and the Chozen Few Family.
Appleton Estate presents ‘Live at the Estate’, an event dedicated to dinner and live entertainment, on Saturday, December 7th. This will all go down at the Joy Spence Appleton Estate in Siloah, St. Elizabeth.
The featured performer for the evening will be iconic reggae artist Freddie McGregor.
Though the Nomad Reggae Festival, which takes place in the summer season (in Frangy, France) is literally months away, they have already begun confirming artists for the 2020 staging.
The Jamaican reggae group Inna De Yard is among the first set of talents added to the upcoming lineup. Maria Jackson Magazine will share additional names as soon as they are announced.
On Friday, November 22nd, Buju released the visuals for his single “Steppa.” The song, which is on his Gargamel Music label, was initially shared in July and has been getting steady rotation on reggae platforms worldwide.
After teasing the release of the visuals, Buju finally dropped it on November 22nd, racking up over 200,000 views almost immediately. If you haven’t done so as yet, click here to watch it and remember to like, comment and share.
Trinidadian roots reggae artist, Queen Omega, will be performing at the popular Kingston Dub Club (7B Skyline Drive) in Jacks Hill, on Sunday, December 15th. She will be supported by emerging talent Mekani.
Queen Omega is currently in Jamaica, where she plans on staying for four months, to work on her upcoming album. In addition to creating new music and doing live shows, Omega is also conducting interviews to get the word out about her 2020 album.
That being said, look out for a new episode of “Maria Jackson Goes 1 On 1 With Queen Omega.” It was taped earlier this week and is currently being edited.
