Earlier today, April 24th, Evidence Music uploaded a brand new song and video from veteran reggae artist Johnny Osbourne. The track is called “Bad Boy” and it was apparently recorded in the 90s but the files were misplaced until recently.

Jamaican song-bird, Etana, continues to surge as she carves a path for her dominant role as a female vocalist within the reggae industry. Prior to the corona virus pandemic, which halted the movement of virtually everyone, Etana was in the midst of a world tour. Once covid-19 became a reality however, she simply changed her focus and turned her attention to other areas as opposed to stopping.
That being said, on Friday, April 17th Etana released the official video for her song Truly. The record was initially shared in mid March and proved to be just what we needed as we’re locked up at home with our significant other. A few days ago international recording artist, Ras Slick, released a new single titled “God Is So Good To Me.” Though the song was written in 2017 he thought it prudent to make it public now, with the objective being to inspire listeners to look to God in these trying times.
The record was inspired by a request from his mother, who is a pastor and wanted him to write a song about God. Though he is not a christian himself, Ras Slick is a strong believer and does not hide the fact that he tries to keep his music and overall lifestyle in line with the Word.
“God Is So Good To Me” was recorded and mastered at Slick‘s own My Time Studio by his engineer Kappah Records. Production credit goes to both Good Look Record and JMK Instrumentals.
Since the release of the track, Ras Slick, with the assistance of the Maria Jackson team, has been doing interviews to get the word out about both the song and its accompanied visuals.
As the corona virus continue to disproportionately affect those in black communities across the U.S., BET will host a relief effort concert tonight (8/7C) to raise funds for the most needy.
They are calling the event ‘Saving Ourselves‘ and it will feature a slew of entertainers from all genres. Among them will be Jamaican reggae-dancehall star Buju Banton.
On Friday, April 17th, Trini reggae artist, Queen Omega, shared her latest contribution to the reggae-dancehall industry; a new single titled “Time Is Now,” done with Jamaican veteran chanter, Jah Mason.
When we first learned that these two had a collaboration coming out we were sure that it would be a roots reggae track. To our surprise, “Time Is Now” is a hardcore dancehall record with a strong message.

On April 17th VP Records released new music and video from Richie Spice. The song, titled “Valley of Jehoshaphat (Red Hot),” is exactly what we’ve come to expect from the reggae legend; it is heavy on spiritual messages powerfully delivered on a groovy reggae beat that’s laced with horns.
