Big Feet Records Shares New Pam Hall Single “Every Mile” (@bigfeetrecords)

Pam Hall‘s latest single is an inspirational reggae-ska tune titled “Every Mile.” The record which is composed by Josh Harris – with guitar input from Dave Carlson – and authored by Mark Stanley, encourages us to stand after every fall, laugh after we cry and simply not to give up on life.

When asked how he connected with legendary vocalist Pam Hall, Harris said the following: “Being a lifelong Reggae fan (and musician) I’ve always been partial to Pam Hall. Once I created Big Feet, we asked Pam to perform a song with us and she graciously accepted.”

Big Feet Records Releases New Lovers-Rock Single With Jamaica’s Foxy Brown (@bigfeetrecords)

Jamaican singer Foxy Brown, who became known after hitting the reggae charts with the Steely & Clevie produced versions of Tracy Chapman’s “Baby Can I Hold You Tonight” and “Fast Car,” has re-emerged with another potential hit. This time she has collaborated with Josh Harris, CEO and owner of Big Feet Records, for the newly released lovers-rock single “Settling Down.”

Josh originally heard about Foxy from Ricky Wave at Soundwave Studio in Kingston (Jamaica). He then went to work composing the rhythm for her to voice. Unfortunately, they lost contact and was not able to truly connect until a year later. The beat is basically an assortment of altered instrument samples and live performances. Dave Carlson played guitar, Clarity did the DJ vocal in the middle and Josh Harris played all the keyboard parts. And although the song was authored by Dave Gouldburn, Brown delivered it perfectly.

“Settling Down” was initially published in October 2020, but this was prior to Big Feet Records entering into an agreement with Zojak Worldwide. Subsequent to their agreement, Harris decided to re-share the single via Zojak; and so far the response has been outstanding!

Dancehall Artist Aurelia Dey Shares 3rd Single From Her Upcoming Album “Sunday Service” (@AureliaDeyMusic)

Afrobeat and dancehall artist Aurelia Dey is sharing her new single, “All These Neighbours.” Released on March 26th, the afro-dancehall song comes to us courtesy of Rudeboy Records and it’s the third single from her upcoming album, titled “Sunday Service.”

Through her dancing, music and acting, Aurelia Dey is constantly finding new ways of expressing herself. She mixes in her pro-black and gender equality messages into her entertainment, and talks openly about her mental health issues, which are linked to her Afro-phobic experiences as both Ghanaian and Swedish.

She wrote “All These Neighbours” in the summer of 2018 when she was in a creative space in her parents’ home country, Ghana. Aurelia sums up the inspiration behind the song as follows:
“I had just been to Ghana and was going to get an apartment there. I had been in a short-term relationship with a famous dancer in Ghana and the thoughts one can wrestle with as a 30+ year old when society tells you to have children and settle down stormed up. While you have “high demands” on a relationship and do not find “the one” you end up in a catch-22 situation full of irony and contradictory thoughts.”

The upcoming album, “Sunday Service,” is on schedule and should be out this Summer. The first single, “Powerbank,” came out last year and did very well in Europe. It was featured in magazines and on TV and radio; with notable broadcasts via SVT’s PSL, Göteborgs-Posten, P4 Göteborg and Hymn. She followed up with the second single, “Rising,” in February 2021. It is also doing well, particularly in Sweden, France, America and Ghana.

Iba Mahr‘s new single, “When You’re Alone,” which was released last Friday, March 26th, is truly a beautiful record. Unlike most of his previous releases where he is doing a lot of singing, on this track he actually chops it up like a dancehall deejay in the verses.

Romain Virgo Receives Plague From Billboard For His Album “LoveSick” (@RealRomainVirgo)

In 2018, Romain Virgo‘s studio album “LoveSick” peaked at number one on the Billboard chart, after enjoying approximately six weeks in various positions. The reggae singer shared a post on his social media accounts yesterday – March 29th – indicating that he has received the plague from Billboard.

“LoveSick” was released on March 30th in 2018 via VP Records. It was produced by Niko Browne for Lifeline Music, with additional production by Sting International and Vikings Production.
