Billboard Magazine, arguably one of America’s biggest urban publication, just did a full story on the popular ‘Verzuz Song Competition,’ which was created by Swizz Beats and Timbaland.
In their article they did a brief write up about all the verzuz clashes that took place, but on the magazine cover they left off dancehall artists Beenie Man and Bounty Killer. Alot of people are rightfully upset about this because the dancehall show was one of the biggest, as it relates to views, streams etc.
Iba Mahr went into his catalogue and pulled out “Dollar Sign,” a song initially released in 2017 on the Body & Soul Riddim. He has created, and just shared, some stunning visuals that breathes new life into the record.

Dancehall recording artist Jahmiel has been very busy lately. Since the start of the global pandemic he has been dropping a new song, and / or video, almost on a weekly basis.
Though all his releases are good, his latest project, “Return,” is probably the hardest we’ve gotten from him to date. Check it out here and judge for yourself.
Though it was shared a day late, Busy Signal‘s video for “Jamaica Jamaica” is spot on. The song, which is on the Maximum Sound Productions label, was officially released on June 5th, and it accurately outlines everything about the little island known as the rock.

Veteran reggae artist, Winston ‘Flags’ Smith, is sharing a song from his upcoming album titled “One Fine Day.” The new single, which is called “The World Is On Fire,” was inspired by the current state of the world; specifically, the global pandemic, the economic collapse, racial injustice, police brutality towards African Americans, and the many protests and riots that followed.
The song, though forceful, was delivered with a bright, hopeful energy that can be felt through the speakers. It was recorded in Miami, Florida, which is where Flags is now based.
Song credits are as follows: David Simmons on drums, Anthony Crichton on Rock Guitar, Patrick Quest on Keyboards and Guitar; with harmonies by Shauna Dazzle Dixon.
When asked what he would like listeners to take away from this record, Winston ‘Flags’ Smith said the following: “The message is one of reassurance, never to forget that Mother Nature rules over the earth, because with all their military might and scientific knowledge the Super Powers that be can’t contain the spread of the small virus. The song also conveys a message that Jah has also opened the eyes of the oppressed to see that the wicked can never conquer.”
Due to the global pandemic, the organizers of this year’s Uprising Festival will be hosting a scaled-down version of the event; it’s being called the Wakelake Edition. The three day concert will be held on August 28th, 29th and 30th at Bratislava, Wakelake.
Because of the many complications surrounding travelling during covid-19, most of the performers will be local artists. The headlining act however, is Jamaican chanter Anthony B, who is already in Europe.
Towards the end of June Toots And The Maytals shared the lead single from the upcoming album, titled “Got To Be Tough.” Today we are learning that the full project will be officially released on Friday, August 28th via Trojan Jamaica.
