Dancehall Artist Ding Dong Shares New Song Endorsing Covid-19 Vaccines

Last week dancehall artist Ding Dong, who is fully vaccinated, shared a pro-vax video on his Instagram account. The clip, which seems to have been shot in a studio, is of him performing a song with the hook “Get Vaccinated.”

The video, which is approximately one minute in length, was posted with the following caption: “And what kind of man would I be if I had made my mother,wife and kids got vaccinated before me???? @andrewholnessjm @themohwgovjm @christufton please to provide a food care package for the less fortunate and the elderly getting vaccinated and try to find a way to reach ppl that are not able to reach the vaccination post.

Jamaica’s PM Relaxes Covid-19 Measures As The Numbers Drop

Earlier this evening (October 26) Jamaica’s prime minister Andrew Holness announced changes to the covid-19 measures in the House of Representative. See a snippet of his statement below.

“Effective Friday, October 29th, the new curfew hours will be from 8pm nightly to 5am the following morning, for every day in the week. Sundays will no longer be no-movement days. This will remain in effect until 5am on December 10, 2021.”

At the beginning of October, Zion High Music in collaboration with Evidence Music, released a Max Romeo and Anthony B combination called Public Enemy. They followed up on October 22nd with another song from the same Cherry Oh Baby Riddim compilation.

Reggae-dancehall artist Bugle has just released his highly anticipated album, Toxicity. The record has sixteen tracks and several collaborations done with some of the biggest names in the industry. Some of the more notable features are Beenie Man, Julian Marley, Bounty Killer, Kabaka Pyramid, Jesse Royal and Tony Gold.

Over the years Bugle has been successful in creating thought provoking music, that though substantive, still manages to appeal to the masses. He has continued on that path with Toxicity, accentuating some of Jamaica’s social and political issues, as well as our overall moral values.

The “Love & Harmony Reggae Cruise” Announces 2022 Return

The annual Love & Harmony Reggae Cruise will set sail again in April, 2022. They have committed to six days and fives nights; departing from Fort Lauderdale in Florida with stops in Nassau, Bahamas and Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Departure date is April 2nd.

Artists that have been confirmed so far are: Beenie Man, Cocoa Tea, Edwin Yearwood, Nadine Sutherland, Beres Hammond, Wayne Wonder and Buju Banton. Click here for additional information.

Kristine Alicia’s “Roots Rock Reggae” Getting A Lot Of Support From Local DJs (@kristinealicia)

Jamaican singer/songwriter Kristine Alicia, who is now based in America, has recorded a masterpiece for Upstairs Music‘s latest compilation: The Train Is Coming Riddim. The aforementioned statement cannot be denied given the support the song, titled Roots Rock Reggae, has been getting from local selectors. Even music critics located in Jamaica who have heard the tune are in agreement that it is a potential hit.

On the record, Kristine Alicia who comes from a very strong musical background, uses her powerful vocals to celebrate authentic reggae music. She does this, while simultaneously highlighting several inefficiencies within the global black community. Reggae DJs, primarily those based in the United States, have gotten behind the track, giving it regular rotation on their respective platforms.
