Bunji Garlin & Mavado To Perform At “Dancehall Vs Soca Unplugged” (@Mavado_Gully @BUNJIGARLIN)

Two Caribbean genres – dancehall and soca – will be on full display on Saturday, February 19th at Main Street Armory (900 E Main Street) in Rochester, New York.

The event, dubbed Dancehall vs Soca Unplugged, will see performances from two of the industry’s biggest artists representing their respective musical styles. Mavado, the Jamaican deejay, will represent dancehall; while Bunji Garlin the Trinidadian sinjay, will be the face and voice of soca.

Early bird tickets, which are now available online, are going for $50 USD. Interested persons should know that there is a limit of four passes per order.

Teflon’s Birthday Celebration Set For Feb. 12 In Lauderhill, Florida

Dancehall artist Teflon, who is affectionately referred to as the Young King, will be celebrating his birthday at Lallo’s – located at 1400 N State Road 7 – in Lauderhill, Florida, on Saturday, February 12.

The event, which is being presented by Lionheart Entertainment, will see Teflon along with several of his musical friends, namely: Richie Mental, Fire Reds, Waggy T and others.

Hezron To Do Pre-Valentine’s Day Show In Hopewell (@iamhezron @Tadsrecord)

On Sunday, February 13, Hezron will take his mission to Hopewell, the seaside town in western Jamaica, for an up-close and personal acoustic performance at Sky Beach Bar & Restaurant. 

The assignment is the promotion of his upcoming album: M.O.A.M (Man On A Mission), which he produced exclusively for Tad’s Record. Although the exact release date has not yet been given, it was announced that the project is scheduled to be published in March; and that it is a joint collaboration between Tad’s Record and Hard Shield Records.

In anticipation of the album’s release, Hezron and his team have been engaged in both a digital and traditional promotional campaign. It includes interviews, public appearances and live performances; one of which is the aforementioned Valentine’s Day show set for next weekend.

Along with good live music, Hezron is also promising chocolate and roses to the female patrons. Starting time is 4:30pm.

Bugle Outlines His Musical “History” In New Video (@BugleAn9ted)

After the successful release of his Toxicity album in the Fall of 21, reggae-dancehall artist Bugle is now reflecting on his long road to victory in the just released song and video titled History.

Both audio and visuals tell the story of Bugle‘s entrance into the music industry going all the way back to his days with Daseca. He talks about all the hurdles he had to jump, while thanking everyone who helped him along the way.

G Whizz To Drop Debut Album This Month (@gwhizzmusic)

On the heels of his Just Winning album listening party, and as we commence Reggae Month 2022, G Whizz is now announcing the official release date for the aforementioned LP.

Just Winning – which is his debut album – is slated to be published on February 18, under Fams House Studio, with a total of 16 tracks produced by Supa Hype, Blaqk Sheep Music, Digital One Productions, Deligets Music and LoneDon Entertainment, among others. The record has four noteworthy collaborations: Grammy award-winning Beenie Man, twice Grammy-nominated Julian Marley, once Grammy-nominated Jesse Royal and multi-award nominee songbird Ikaya.

Tony Curtis Confirmed For “Strictly 80s 90s” Dance In New York

On Sunday, February 13, Stretch (from Road International) will present an event dubbed Strictly 80s 90s. This is a dancehall session that is to be held in the day; starting at 5pm and ending at 12am.

The organizers would like the public to know that 50% of the music that will be played at this dance is lover’s-rock. There will also be a live performance by international recording artist Tony Curtis – a member of the reggae group L.U.S.T and a solo artist in his own right.

In addition to Curtis‘ set, additional music is expected from Sir Conqueror, Pretty Posse, Glamour Wayne and Road International. Strictly 80s 90s will take place at Mingles Ultra Lounge (4012 Boston Road) in Bronx, New York. Click here for tickets.

Derrick Scott Continues To Soar! (@DerrickScottMu1)

Derrick Scott‘s God Answer Prayer is still in the top ten on both the New York and South Florida Reggae Charts. In New York he is at #9 – this is after being at #1 for a couple of weeks – and in South Florida he is in the #2 spot.

Additionally, his lyric video for False Preacher continues to get steady rotation on music video programs in Jamaica.

While he is thankful for all the support he is currently getting, Scott is staying focus. He and his team are now working on new visuals as they simultaneously prep for his annual concert which will be presented later in the year.
