The messenjah – Luciano – is now in the United Kingdom for four confirmed shows, all happening back-to-back from the 3rd to the 6th.
On the 3rd he plays at the 2Funky Music Café in Leicester; on the 4th it’s The Blues Kitchen in Manchester and the two following nights (the 5th and 6th) he will perform at The Jazz Café in London.
Succeeding in the music industry is all about making the right links and fostering long term relationships. The connection between recording artist Ginjah and roots record label, Reggae Vibes Music, is confirmation of that.
Reggae Vibes‘ CEO and owner, Marlon Folkes, initially connected with Ginjah in 2015 for a project he was working on at the time; the Reggae Vibes Riddim. Since then the men have kept in touch and have maintained a professional relationship; one that is now paying off in the form of a stunning reggae tune that is sure to be a hit.
The song is titled Love Will Reign Again. It was created by Loud City Studios, Marlon Folkes and Ginjah, who decided to have Kenroy ‘Shortman’ Mullings (Buju Banton‘s guitarist) add some guitar tracks. Ginjah‘s flawless singing is complimented by the pronounced background vocals done by Stephanie Hava. This is a beautiful record that encourages and celebrates love in all its forms, as well as the inexplicable force behind it.
According to the team at Reggae Vibes Music: even though the song’s promotion campaign is in its early stages they are already getting a lot of positive feedback, especially from DJs. Countless selectors have added Love Will Reign Again to their playlists and mixtapes, and it is featured on all the major reggae music platforms.
Folkes is also promising both a lyric video and an official music video.
This is clearly a bad week for Caribbean music. We are now learning that on Monday, March 28, Trinidad and Tobago entertainer Dexter ‘Blaxx’ Stewart died at the Arima Hospital. He was apparently hospitalized with covid-19 complications and unfortunately succumbed to it.
Blaxx was the lead vocalist of De All Stars band. He was only 59 years of age.
