On Sunday, April 26th, Jamaica’s Health & Wellness Minister, Dr. Chris Tufton, will be having a digital town-hall centered around the spread of the corona virus on the island. He will be joined by gospel recording artist Kevin Downswell, as the government wants to ensure that the nation’s Christian community are kept informed. Last week a similar event was held with a secular artist.

The ‘Covid Conversation’ is scheduled for 3:00 PM local time, and it can be streamed via both Kevin Downswell and Dr. Chris Tufton‘s instagram accounts.

One of America’s current trending gospel artist, Jonathan McReynolds, has been busy teasing his fans and supporters on social media with what many hope will be a live online concert.

Without saying too much, the singer simply shared a poster announcing that something special will take place on Friday, April 24th at 12 AM EST.

Some have speculated that he will go live, while others are saying that based on the time it cannot be a live event. What we here at Maria Jackson Magazine know is that whatever he’s going to do, it will be related to his “People” project.

The Sterling Gospel Music Awards, which was to take place on March 14th, was cancelled due to the ongoing corona virus pandemic. Subsequently, the organizers decided to partner with both Television Jamaica and Love 101 FM for the announcement of the 2020 winners.

That being said, persons are asked to tune into the aforementioned networks on Sunday, April 26th, at 8:00 PM for the broadcast.

DJ Nicholas Will Be A Guest On ‘Virtual Throwback Thursdays’ This Week (@djnicholas2 @JasonMighty)

Reggae gospel artist Jason Mighty is kicking off an event called ‘Virtual Throwback Thursdays‘ this week. It is a digital show that will be centered around testimonies, inspirational conversation, humor, music and much more.

This coming Thursday, April 23rd, dancehall gospel artist DJ Nicholas will be a guest on the program. Starting time is 6 PM EST and it can be streamed live via Nicholas‘ Facebook and Instagram.

Marion Hall (Formerly Lady Saw) Re-enters The Dancehall (@WayneStoddart @MinisterMarion)

Minister Marion Hall, who used to be called Lady Saw and was the raining queen of the dancehall, has re-entered the genre, this time as a gospel artist. Hall collaborated with Florida singer Wayne Stoddart on a new single titled Jesus Junkie.

On the record both artists lament about their love for Jesus on top of a bouncy hardcore rhythm. The song was produced by Clifton “Johnny” Clarke and Aston Barrett, and it’s on the Undiluted Muzik label.

Alley Bless’ Much Anticipated Video For “Rough” Is Out Now!

Arguably one of the most inspirational songs released in 2019, Rough by Alley Bless now has some visuals. The official video was uploaded to YouTube earlier today (Sunday, April 13th).

The clip, which tells the story of a single mother who goes from extreme poverty to success, was shot and edited by Maria Jackson in St. Thomas, Jamaica. Rough was written and produced by Michael Reynolds (of Sekimhaj Records).
