In 2021 dancehall-gospel artist Jimmy Fagan shared his first full-length studio album: Tell the Story, Vol. 1. The thirteen-track project, which was published on the Basco House Production label, is a compilation of all his earlier releases.
Since the LP came out Fagan and his team have been consistently sharing singles from it. Hard Work is the latest.
For approximately four and half minutes Jimmy Fagan explains why it is important to exert physical and mental effort in order to make a living. Using a hardcore dancehall track – no pun intended – he outlines the benefits of putting in both effort and endurance in whatever we do.
The official video, which shows Fagan toiling as both a taxi operator and a construction worker, accurately represents the lyrics.

Wande, Reach Records’ first female, has just shared the official video for her latest single, They Didn’t Know II. The hip-hop track is a follow up to her 2016 song with the same name.
The initial record describes the reaction of others when they see someone transition from a secular life to one centered in Christianity; and on this new release she expands on that.

Jodian Pantry first captured the eyes and hearts of Jamaicans in 2001 as a contestant in the JCDC Gospel Competition. She made history, being the first child to ever compete amongst adults in the contest. She later entered Digicel Rising Stars (2007) where she finished in 2nd place.
Following her participation in the aforementioned shows, she became the center of attention with her remake of Bon Jovi‘s Bed Of Roses; a collaboration done with Noddy Virtue. The success of Bed Of Roses resulted in a rewarding world tour, which introduced reggae lovers in other countries to Jodian Pantry and her music.
In 2009 Jodian Pantry was nominated for best collaboration of the year in the Excellence in Music & Entertainment Awards. She is also recognized as one of Jamaica’s top vocalist, and a performer that is in high demand by organizers of corporate events island-wide.
Jodian Pantry has shared the stage with several local and international celebrities. Two that must be mentioned are: singers of the mega hit song Have You Seen Her, The Chi-Lites, and Percy Sledge, the beloved American R&B, soul and gospel singer.
I’ll Give My Heart, penned by Adventist and gospel singer/songwriter George Gordon, is one of Jodian Pantry‘s biggest songs to date. Another notable record in her catalogue is Walk By Faith, which at its peak, dominated all the major gospel radio stations in Jamaica.
Over the years she has recorded several tunes for various producers: Counting My Blessings, Struggling and Caah Frame Me, produced by her former manager Gladstone Wright of the Moses Production label; Never Stay Away, composed and written by Tamone Thompson for the Digicel Rising Stars album; and Big Dreams, Jehovah and Change, done for Izrael Production. In 2018 Pantry collaborated with dancehall artist Shane O on a powerful and timely single titled No More Killing.
Jodian Pantry is now working with Paul Patmore Production, the imprint with which she has so far done One Day and her current trending single When I’m Back On My Feet Again. The team is now working assiduously to ensure that Jodian Pantry‘s music and message is heard and felt all over the world.
1K Phew, the Atlanta artist that has publicly committed to keeping it 1,000, just dropped a new single titled The Offering. On the record and in the visuals he tackles those church leaders who are abusing the members trust by using the church offering for their personal gains.

Emerging Trini gospel artist Clevon Smith has been getting a lot of attention of late, especially since he shared his single, Rise Again. The powerful slow groove is a fuse of Jamaican dancehall and American hip-hop, both working together as a base on which Smith‘s strong vocals lay.
The entire song is a prayer. “Hold my head oh Lord, as I trod up on this road – please walk beside me, I can’t walk this path alone.” The preceding are words taken from Rise Again.
According to Clevon, the song was inspired by events he saw and experienced throughout, and even after the pandemic. Many persons close to him were seriously affected by the virus. He lost two very good friends whose deaths brought back memories of his deceased sister, grandfather and uncle. On top of that, His wife, daughter and sister all caught the delta variant, which resulted in the family being quarantined and having to deal with all the complications that went along with that.
Rise Again was released in early March. The video went live on the 8th and the audio became available on digital music stores the following day: on the 9th. The official video is just as compelling as the track. Shot and edited by David Allen Photography, the clip has a very pronounced cinematic look and style.
When asked what he would like listeners to take away from the song, Clevon Smith said: “Would want them to be encouraged and blessed and know that no matter what life may bring their way they can rise again; could be at their lowest point, never give up because they can rise again.”
