Malawian Artist Nanto Peetah Collaborates With Karamanti On New Single “Prayer Babes”

Malawian dancehall-gospel artist Nanto Peetah is gearing up to release his first full-length studio album this year. The project – dubbed Ministry – will feature African artists Mady P (Don Gogo), Princi MusiqAbaba Surgent and Jah Flavour; as well as Jamaican lyricist Karamanti.

Prayer Babes, the title of the just released single done with Karamanti, is already getting a lot of attention because so far it is the only international collaboration on the LP. Furthermore, a lot is being said about just how hard Karamanti delivered on the track.

On the afro-beat fused rhythm, the woman, often referred to as the most underrated female lyricist in Jamaican dancehall, asks:

Weh yu know bout prayer babes
when yu go inna di spirit and yu prayer blaze
time stop yu transform to a higher place
only ting weh matter now a word play
so weh yu say?

Call di name a di God yu praise
say it loud & proud mek heaven shake
gratitude yu fi use na na delay
yu cyaa loose if yu choose Jah Jah any day
mi Deejay!

Prayer Babes is now available on all digital music platforms.

Jodian Pantry Booked For 3 Back-To-Back Shows This Sunday! (@jodianCPantry @patmore_paul)

Regretfully, Jodian Pantry‘s EP release was pushed back due to production delays that were out of her control. The team at Paul Patmore Production – the imprint with which Pantry is signed – is now anticipating that the project will be ready in mid to late August. They are also promising to make an official announcement once the new date has been decided.

That said, Jodian Pantry continues to have a packed schedule that includes interviews, public appearances and live performances. This weekend alone she will be singing at four events; three of which will be on the same day.

Pantry kicked off the weekend with a performance at Prison Oval on Friday, July 29; this is an event that was hosted by Jamaica’s Ministry of Health & Wellness. On Sunday, the 31st, she will join thousands of mourners at the funeral service for the Clarendon mother and her four children who were murdered at their home in the community of Cocoa Piece. Pantry, who is a gospel recording artist, will attempt to bring some comfort to the family and friends of the deceased through her music ministry.

Following the burial, Jodian will head to the Elethe Mall Plaza in Mandeville at approximately 6pm for the Fashium – Colors Edition fashion show. This is the only fashion pageantry that will see girls from different parishes competing. Pantry, the event’s special guest artist, will provide the musical entertainment.

Her final stop for the day will be at the Sligoville Stadium for Emanci-Fest 2022. Here she will join Sista Pat, Carey Sayles and Kevin Downswell for a gospel concert that is free to the public. Emanci-Fest is a two day festival that is held annually to preserve the heritage and safeguard the legacy of the area as Jamaica’s first liberated village. Jodian Pantry received a special invitation from M.P. Natalie Neita-Garvey, a long time supporter, who is instrumental in the staging of Emanci-Fest.
