Matthew Radics, Son Of Jamaican Legend Jack Radics, Releases New EP (@MatthewRadics)

00-mathew-radics

Matthew Radics

Son of Jamaican singing and song writing legend Jack Radics, Matthew grew up around the entertainment industry and has actively worked therein for over a decade.

As a singer, song writer, producer, actor and film maker he has appeared on national television and radio in countries across the globe including the ones he calls home: Jamaica and England.
Matthew grew up in Jamaica and spent most summer holidays with family in New York. He moved to London at the age of 14 when his father signed to Sony after enjoying massive success with his cover of ‘Twist & Shout’. He was accepted into The Brit School of Performing Arts, The National Youth Theatre and Cambridge University.

Being exposed to different cultures has led Matthew to embrace a wide range of musical influences, but it’s the classic Reggae and Hip Hop sounds that dominated 90’s radio that have made the biggest impression on this young rising star’s music.

An all round entertainer, Matthew has collaborated with a host of talented artists and labels, performing in Europe, North America and The Caribbean.

After establishing his own independent label ‘SoundKillaz Music’ with brother Rivah Jordan, they are now releasing his first solo project: ‘The One Eye Man EP’. The EP features beats by London based hip-hop producer Whodiniz. The production outfit have been put together by legendary London B-Boy ‘Dolby D’ who has taken on the role of Executive Producer on the project.

Break Her Heart is the first single from the EP and is out now on all major e- outlets.
The video was filmed and edited by Capture House Ldn and produced by SoundKillaz Music. The song tells the story of a man torn between two lovers and losing them both. In a similar fashion the song itself is torn between classic reggae and new school dancehall, but in sharp contrast the songs narrative manages to stay sincere to each one.

TOP JAMAICAN BROADCASTER RICHIE B LEAVES MELLO FM

00-RICHARD__BURGESSFor over two years, top Jamaican broadcaster, Richard ‘Richie B’ Burgess, has been waking up the nation on Mello Daybreak, a programme that has shown tremendous growth under his watch. However, news broke on Friday, that his stint with Mello FM had come to an end.

When pressed, he said, “without going into too much detail, a particular benefit that was included in my original contract, was being removed, I thought, unjustifiably and that led to the stalemate.”

Mello Daybreak under Richie B’s direction, gave the station it’s biggest ever listenership in the prime 6am – 9am timeslot, as evidenced in the most recent MRSL All Media Survey. It also took revenues to never before seen heights.

When asked ‘where do you go from here?’, the man dubbed The Party Master said “for now, i’ll be dedicating a lot of time and giving a great deal of attention to my latest business venture, an upscale wholesale liquor centre in Kingston. This will keep me quite busy for a while yet” he said.

As for a quick return to radio, he said “If there’s a radio station with a good management structure, all island accessibility and technical competence, who needs, probably Jamaica’s most exciting early morning show host on their team, I’m ready to commence dialogue” he said with grin.
