The legendary Black Scorpio Sound will be celebrating its 50th anniversary on Saturday, September 1st at the West Indian Social Club – located at 3340 Main Street – in Hartford, Connecticut.
The event will feature several reggae and dancehall legends, namely: Shine Head, Rory (from Stone Love) Little John, Lady G, Brigadier Jerry, General Trees, and that is just to name a few.

Recording artist and lyricist Souljii Wehttam, in collaboration with Sekimhaj Records, releases a powerful dancehall single entitled March For Peace. The song comes at a time when the island of Jamaica is dealing with a serious problem of crime and violence. On the record, Souljii Wehttam warns the politicians that if something is not done about the escalating crime rate, they will suffer serious consequences. He also encourages the youths to join him in marching for peace.

Denmark’s very own reggae/dancehall artists, Mwakenya and Lappa Luma, will both be on the 2018 Aarhus Reggae Festival. Mwakenya will perform on Day 1, Friday, August 24th, while Lappa Luma will work on Day 2, Saturday, August 25th.

Jamaican music with his African roots music to create a unique sound that is truly his own. In addition to having an active career as a solo artist, Mwakenya is also the lead singer for Strictly I ‘N’ I, a live reggae band from Kolding, Denmark.
Lappa Luma grew up in Brikama, Gambia, where he started his music career at 15 years old. He has performed on some of the biggest reggae events in both Europe and Gambia.

On Friday, August 31st, Trinidad & Tobago’s Island Fusion will be held at the Jean Pierre Complex (Wrightson Rd Ext, Port of Spain). This is a celebration of music, love and life, and it will feature a slew of artists from both Jamaica and Trinidad.
