Teflon Continues To Climb The Hardest Hills (@TEFLON_JA)

I am sure I have said this before, but I will continue to say it until people start to pay attention to the fact that reggae-dancehall artist Teflon is undeniably one of the most underrated lyricist in the industry.

Those who have not yet noticed this Young King need only to pay attention to the tracks on his just released album, “Years A Pain.” I have personally listened to all the songs on that project, and though I may not agree with all his ideological beliefs, I do think that every single song is catchy, captivating and well delivered.

Last week he shared the official video for “Hardest Hill To Climb,” one of the songs featured on the record, and as I watched the visuals I started thinking that he is indeed climbing a hard hill. And I say that because right now there is little to no substance in dancehall, so any artist that is out there trying to inject some positivity will indeed encounter a lot of challenges.

Teflon Chants “Brimstone” On Artists That Are Misleading The Masses (@TEFLON_JA)

A few days ago, Teflon, also known as the Young King, shared the official video for his track “Brimstone.” The song is featured on his just released studio album, “Years A Pain.”

We wanted to highlight this video not because of the visuals, but because of the song’s lyrical content. Anyone who subscribes to Maria Jackson Magazine should know by now that we are very disgusted with the commercialization of urban and Caribbean music, especially dancehall. And Teflon, in his song “Brimstone,” seems to be just as fed up as we are.

On the record he addresses things like artists selling out for travel visa; radio stations collecting money for airplay and so much more. Click here or on the image above to watch the video. Please pay close attention to the overall message and remember to like, comment and share.

Karamanti Shares The Visuals For Her Afrobeat Single “Mi Nuh Bow”

On Friday, March 12th, Jamaican dancehall artist Karamanti uploaded the official video for her trending single “Mi Nuh Bow.” The clips, which were captured in Seaview Gardens (Kingston, Jamaica) by fellow dancehall artist Mackamilli, simply shows the lyricist delivering a very emotional performance, as she along with her team tried to respect the covid-19 protocols put in place by the government.

“Mi Nuh Bow” has been enjoying steady rotation since it came out at the beginning of the year. It is doing particularly well in Latin America, where several commercial radio stations have now added the song to their playlists.

Now that the release of the visuals are behind her, Karamanti will redirect her attention to the upcoming album that she has been assiduously working on. The project, which she hopes to have ready for May of this year, has not yet been titled, but features productions from European dancehall producer Major P, Jamaican beat maker Otis Mason and Arioso Legato from the United States.
