Dancehall Artist Mr. Peppa Is Grieving His Mother’s Death (@RealMrPeppa @nyahblessmusic)

Earlier this year dancehall artist Mr. Peppa released a captivating song titled Nah Worry. The track was inspired by his mother, who at the time was gravely ill. She became sick in March and after numerous tests was diagnosed with renal failure and cervical cancer. Following her diagnosis she was then placed on dialysis twice a week. Regretfully, she passed away on Wednesday, August 11th.

Mr. Peppa is now grieving her death, and though he is trying to cling on to the words in his song, Nah Worry, he is indeed broken. In a recent interview with the Jamaica Star he said: “Yeah, man, me and my mom did close. We grow up with mom and dad together. I remember as kids as soon as my dad left to work, we would run into their room and jump up in the bed beside her. I would take one cheek and my brother would take the other, because my mom’s skin always felt good. We have this thing we called ‘love’ and whenever she was leaving, we would ask for some ‘love’.”

Karamanti Releases First Single From Her Upcoming Album

Earlier this year dancehall artist Karamanti announced that she would be releasing a new studio album. The initial plan was to have the project out at the end of May, but unfortunately that date was not met. The album’s release date has been changed on a couple of occasions; this is due in part to amendments being made to songs already recorded, as well as the addition of new music.

That being said, on Tuesday, August 17th, Karamanti shared the LP’s first single, Start With A Prayer. The hardcore dancehall track is presented as a form of devotion; and as the album is titled Spiritual Warfare, the lead single gives a clear indication of the lyrical content that is to be feature throughout the full project.

The rhythm for Start With A Prayer was created by Old Harbour (Jamaica) based producer AudioTraxx Productions, which is headed up by Lamar Thompson.

Dancehall Artist Mackamilli Drops New Video Celebrating Jamaica (@Mackamilli)

Mackamilli, a former member of the popular 90’s dancehall group Innocent Kru, has been aggressively focusing on his solo career in recent months. In addition to working behind the scenes as a video director and label owner, Macka has also been busy creating and releasing new music. His latest is a family friendly dancehall tune called Welcome To Jamaica. He shared it on August 6th, the island’s 59th Independence Day.

In Welcome to Jamaica Mackamilli laments about the nation’s music, food, culture and lifestyle; all while bragging about it’s athletes and their accomplishments. It is worth noting that on that very morning the Jamaican women’s 4×100-meter relay team took home the gold medal at the Olympics.

On the same day that he published the song Macka also uploaded the official video to his channel. And as he himself is a well respected videographer, he made sure to create some visuals that capture both the mood and vibe of the record.

Dancehall Artist Lion Face I-Talawah Voices On The “Restart Riddim” (@Blakkwuman22)

In a few weeks Blakkwuman22 Music, the record label owned and operated by dancehall artist Karamanti, will release the Restart Riddim. This is a hardcore dancehall juggling that will feature new music from various artists. Among those that will be on the project is popular Jackson Town deejay Lion Face I-Talawah.

Lion‘s new song will be a follow up to his now trending single, Survivor, which was shared earlier in the year on the Mountain Top Riddim (Haile Cush Records). Although that compilation featured mega stars like Jah Mason and Fantan Mojah, it was Lion Face‘s Survivor that captured the attention of the masses.

In an effort to maintain the momentum, two days ago Lion Face joined Karamanti in the studio and recorded a powerful song titled Truth. On the record, the hardcore lyricist touched on everything from the lowest form of poverty to the highest form of corruption; all while highlighting his Rastafarian faith.

As the Restart Riddim is still in the production phase, persons are encouraged to download Survivor via the link below, while we await Lion Face I-Talawah‘s new song, Truth.
