Cocoa Tea has not graced a stage at a major concert in NY in several years. The veteran reggae singjay is rearing to unleash hits ‘Rocking Dolly,’ ‘Riker’s Island,’ ‘I Lost My Sonia,’ ‘Can’t Stop Cocoa Tea’ and ‘Good Life’ at this year’s ‘Ladies Ball,’ the first major reggae/R&B concert on the entertainment calendar in the NY area for 2015.
The event, slated to take place at the exquisite Resort World Casino ballroom in Queens, New York on Sunday, February 8 2015 will also feature R&B hit machine Freddy Jackson, Richie Stephens and Sanchez.
“With Valentines Day just a few weeks away, the time is perfect to present another intimate, up close and personal concert for the ladies” said event promoter Bobby Clarke.
In October, Jackson proved his star power, delivering one of the best performances at the ‘Soul In The Sun’ festival in Montego Bay. He is expected to have his way with the ladies again with ballads like ‘You Are My Lady,’ ‘Rock Me Tonight’ and ‘Tasty Love.’
Equally enrapturing will be Jamaica Music Ambassador Richie Stephens who enjoyed a stellar year in 2014 with ‘Everybody Dance.’ He is expected to own the stage with nostalgic anthems ‘My Girl Dis,’ ‘Come Give Me Your Love,’ ‘Winner’ and ‘Live Your Life.’
Sanchez, whose star shone the brightest at the inaugural ‘Ladies Ball’ last year, returns to ignite the stage with musical flames with favorites like ‘I Can’t Wait’, ‘Lonely Won’t Leave Me Alone’, ‘Here I Am’, ‘Missing You’ and ‘Chronic.’
Other performers include NY based KConeil and Lady Saw who will shed her hardcore persona for the more palatable Marion Hall.
