Over the past few days there have been approximately 50 to 60 new confirm corona virus cases on the island of Jamaica. Persons in other parts of the world, who are accustomed to seeing huge numbers in their country, may think this is not a big deal. However, Jamaica has been able to successfully manage the spread of the virus so far by keeping the number under a thousand.

Regretfully, as of August 9th, Jamaica has recorded 1,023 confirmed cases of the corona virus. The rise in cases have resulted in two communities, one in Clarendon and the other in St. Thomas, being placed under quarantine.
