As dancehall artists continue to attract a lot of negative publicity, several persons are speaking out, in some cases labeling the entire genre as bad.
Jamaican born, Florida based reggae/dancehall artist Zally – who is known for his clean, conscious lyrics – has taken a different approach. As opposed to bashing those contributing negatively to the music, he has embraced them. On his latest single, “Pray Fi Dancehall,” he advocates for the release of Vybz Kartel, Ninja Man, Buju Banton and others. Though he does not agree with their lyrical content, Zally believes that it is important to show them love instead of shunning them.
“Pray Fi Dancehall” is on Zally‘s own label (Zally Music). It was produced by Arioso Legato Music.
