See below a message from the office of the Prime Minister of Jamaica, the Hon. Andrew Holness, regarding new curfew hours.
“Effective today, February 10, 2021, the islandwide curfew will commence at 8 pm instead of 10 pm nightly and end at 5 am, the following morning, until on February 24, 2021.
The curfew helps to filter non-productive activities however, it does have an impact on productive activities that happen outside of curfew–such as factories that operate on double shifts, quick service industries, and restaurants.
If we do not act now, we could overwhelm the capacity of our healthcare system, which leads to even greater problems. We ask for the understanding of our friends in commerce, and ask the population, in general, to abide by the curfew hours.”
