After receiving rave reviews for the first single from his upcoming album, roots artist Peetah Sancho followed the release of “When The Trumpet Blows” with “Roses.”
“Roses” was recorded early last year (2019). The track initially started out as an acoustic version of Dennis Brown’s song, “Have You Ever,” which was played by Andrew Bassford. After a lot of work with his music team, Sancho eventually created the beautiful sound we now hear whenever the record is played.
The song was inspired by a real life experience. A female friend of Peetah was going through a rough time in her relationship, and because he was interested in her he tried to reassure her that she is a Rose and deserves better treatment.
