The popular concert series, Redemption, held in Trinidad and Tobago, will feature Beres Hammond, Junior Kelly, Glen Washington and Bushman. The men will all be backed by a full band from Jamaica.

The event takes place at the Hasely Crawford Stadium (Wrightson Road, West Indies Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago) on Saturday, June 17th, 2017.

Sean Paul Added To Jamaica’s Reggae Sumfest 25 (@duttypaul @reggaesumfest)

Grammy Award winning artiste Sean Paul has been added to the line-up for the 25th staging of Reggae Sumfest. The multi-platinum artiste will break his current Europe tour for a fourth appearance on the festival.

Having racked up an impressive catalogue and a huge fan base worldwide over two decades, Sean Paul continues to be relevant in the global music industry with a legacy of chart topping music including the classic Like Glue (2002),Temperature (2005) and in recent tomes Cheap Thrills and Rockabye.

The artiste last performance on the show in 2014. With Baddabanz Band, Baddagyalz Dancers along with Farenheit and Tour DJ Coppershaun Sean Paul is set to rewrite history with a high energy set. His Saturday April 01, performance in Ocho Rios at the Moon Palace Jamaica Grande at the Sean Paul Live in Concert is a signal to the power and flavour of the artiste mood as he is keyed up to play for his Jamaican fans this summer.

Sean Paul released Crick Neck last year, in collaboration with Chi-Ching Ching and the single did well on the local music and video charts. He has also been doing great work with local producer Don Corleon who produced Tek Weh Yuh Heart featuring rapper Tory Lanez, who is also billed for the Festival. The producer is also looking to release Body with Sean Paul and Migos soon.

Reggae Sumfest’s 25th anniversary features a week of events starting on Sunday, July 16 with a Beach Party, into the Sumfest Sunset Yacht Party on Monday, July 17. The staple All-White Party at Pier One takes place on Tuesday, July 18, Sumfest Blitz on Wednesday, July 19 and the Sumfest Heavyweight Clash returns on Thursday, July 20. The festival concludes at Catherine Hall on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23 with a most anticipated stage show.

On August 18, 19 and 20, the Montreal International Reggae Festival (MIRF) will present its 14th edition at the Old Port of Montreal, maintaining its theme United Against Violence. This year promises yet again the highest calibre of Jamaican and West Indian talent, spanning the cultural genres of Roots, Dancehall, Lover’s Rock and even Comedy and Gospel.

The organizers have confirmed the governor of the dancehall and the church halls, Lt. Stitchie. He is expected to headline the event alongside Inner Circle, Konshens, Etana and host of others. The MIRF is dubbed as one of the best reggae festivals around the world.

The Strong One is a special guest of Morgan Heritage who has recently embarked on their Avrakedabra world tour 2017. Fans will be treated to some roots and reggae, as Etana performs some of her biggest classic and newest hits in Oxford, Manchester, Birmingham and London (see dates below).

It is a busy summer ahead for the touring songbird, who between shows is hard at work in studio putting finishing touches on an upcoming summer 2017 EP.

Nyah Bless Music has just unveiled the official video for their single, “Non Genuine” performed by reggae veteran Thriller U. The song was first shared in late February and has been getting solid rotation from reggae radio programs as well as street and club DJs worldwide.

Visuals for the catchy lovers-rock tune shows a female – played by actress Shernette Williams – who deceives her man, Thriller U (played by popular Jamaican actor DJ Stanhype), by getting him to buy her a house and other expensive items, all while cheating on him. The video was shot in and around the Three Oakes area in Kingston, Jamaica. It was directed and edited by Maria Jackson Entertainment.

Tarrus Riley, Wayne Wonder, Assassin, Half Pint to Headline Palm Beach Jerk Festival – May 29th (@OrlandoJerkFest)

Daddy U-Roy to Perform in New York for the first time in over 25 years

U-RoyJamaican music pioneer Daddy U Roy, who ruled the charts in the 70s with hit singles, ‘Penny For Your Song’ (with Derrick Harriott); ‘Stop that Train;’ ‘Dread in a Babylon;’ ‘Wake The Town;’ ‘Rule The Nation’ and ‘Wear You To The Ball’ (with John Holt) is set to perform In Queens on Sunday, June 25.

‘The Originator, as he is known, has earned an invitation to perform at New York’s Groovin In The Park at Roy Wilkins Park where he will join reggae/rocksteady hitmaker Freddie McGregor, chart topper Ken Boothe and music magician Leroy Sibbles. All four acts will form part of a special package that celebrates the magic of the Rocksteady/reggae era. It is his first outdoor concert performance in New York City in more than 25 years and he is over the moon.

Roy is a major superstar in Europe and Africa where he performs regularly. A few years ago he had a minor hit stateside with singer Richie Stephens called ‘Real Reggae Music’ and ‘Ebony Eyes’ featuring Winsome Benjamin. A follow up single ‘Nah Complain’ with entertainer Kafinal topped reggae charts in Canada and New York. Earlier this year he recorded ‘Pumps & Pride’ with singer Tarrus Riley that is getting traction on numerous stations in the Diaspora. His biggest hit is still his collaborative song ‘Wear You To The Ball’ that was released with John Holt in the early 70s. It reached #1 on the Jamaican chart and stayed there for 12 weeks.
