Malika from P. Diddy’s “Making The Band” is back! (@queenmalikaent)

00-MalikaMalika has been performing and acting for over a decade in the United States and abroad. Her recently released record, “Do Betta,” is a representation of where she is in her personal and professional life right now. It speaks to the fact that none of us are perfect but that we all should strive and try to “Do Betta”.

The track was written by Malika and produced by Korise Big Tunes Jubert who also directed and filmed the music video. 

Many people may remember Malika for her appearance on MTV’s “Making The Band” with P. Diddy. Since appearing on the show she has been busy earning her degree in Psychology while simultaneously modeling and acting.

Roots-rock reggae singer Kabaka Pyramid, one of the stand out performers at this year’s Reggae Sumfest and Jah Bouks who shot to fame with his reggae anthem “Call Angola” in 2013 are confirmed participants at the third annual Jamaica Music Conference 2015 which takes place at the University of the West Indies, Haile Selassie 1 High School and Nanok Enterprise on November 20- 22. Bouks will perform at the Welcome Reception on November 20 while Kabaka Pyramid will be a Panelist at the three day conference.

The Jamaica Music Conference will feature other reggae music industry luminaries including Kendall Minter, noted New York City entertainment attorney; Ibo Cooper, Edna Manley School of the Visual & Performing Arts; Winford Williams, On Stage/ CVM TV; the Hon. Olivia “Babsy” Grange, Abi Reggae Fest; Barbara Blake-Hannah, Rasta Radio; Delroy Thompson, Juice TV; Joan Webley, Rototom and Rayven Amani.

The conference will be a springboard for panel discussions on a number of hot button topics, issues and challenges relating to reggae across the Jamaican Diaspora and will celebrate the many successes that the reggae music industry has enjoyed over the past year.

Some of the highlights of the conference are as relevant as they are fascinating: the 360 deal and the latest trends in entertainment law, the role of education in creating music professionals, the challenges of attracting sponsorship dollars for events, promoting reggae events in the United States, the role of the Edna Manley Mission 2015, the importance of high school music programs, and the women of the Jamaican music industry.

00-Likkle Lightning showsLikkle Lightning will be doing two major shows in the U.S.A next week end: On Friday, November 13th he will be at Cash’s Mansion in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida (125 Ferry Road SE). And on Saturday, November 14th he will be at Club Envy in Huntsville, Alabama (200 Oakwood Ave. NE). On both shows, Likkle Lightning will do an opening set for Turbulence, who is the headlining act.

Following his shows in America, Likkle Lightning will return home to Jamaica to resume work on his long overdue debut album.

“Lovers Rock And Soul” Hits #12 On ITunes UK Charts And #31 On U.S Charts

00-mrvegasIt’s nearing a week since the release of Mr. Vegas’s newest project “Lovers Rock and Soul”, the 11-Track album filled with reggae renditions of classic hits, showcased across iTunes US this past weekend, gaining its spot on iTunes US Charts at #31. The album has also made great strides in the U.K, where it is currently sitting at #12 on the U.K iTunes Charts.
